We don't really have a slogan but we need one. I want something like "Train. Defend. Live." Not set on that by any stretch but a cool slogan could go a long ways.
What We Do
Stillwater Armory is a firearms training center and Pro-Shop that provides formal classes and equipment for the shooting enthusiast. We have used the line "Firearms, Ammunition, Training & Gear" to describe what we do.

Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - We take our jobs very serious and understand our training could make the difference between life and death.
#2 - Our instructors are very knowledgable and are there to help the students.
#3 - We are a very professional organization.
Our Target Audience:
Our typical client is: conservative, patriotic, religious, serious about their duties and responsibilities & consider themselves upstanding citizens. They may enjoy other outdoor pursuits such as hunting, camping, etc. Age range is typically early 20's to mid 40's although we do have older clients. The majority are married and have families. Approximately 75% of our clients are males although females represent the fastest growing segment of our market. The vast majority are from Oklahoma. Income levels and occupations are very diverse although we do have a substantial number of college students or administrators as we are located in a university town.
Color Preferences
Colors which represent strength such as Steel Gray, Black, & Blue
Red, White, & Blue can be used altough they shouldn't be the primary colors as a group.
Serious colors - no vivid colors that could be considered playful
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
Our web-site is www.oklahomaconcealedcarry.com and it speaks to what we believe and try to portray. I like a little bit of an edge to the design. The most important aspect of the logo is that it describe what we do: provide firearms training and a retail pro-shop to purchase firearms and supplies with an emphasis on the training.
The logo needs to transfer well to promotional items such as hats or T-Shirts but be sophisticated enough to be used as letter-head. The logo or perhaps a recognizable portion of the logo needs to be able to be embroidered on a shirt pocket or a baseball cap.
Our training is mostly directed towards self-defense and law enforcement as opposed to target shooters and hunters. I do not want animals or bulls-eyes on the logo. The only exception is that I use a perched eagle on my existing signs to denote strength and patriotism but the eagle is not a necessity in the new design but it also is not something I would dismiss. Firearms or shooting gear such as ammunition would be fine but not necessarilly needed.

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
Loving the logos coming in. Thank you very much. It's probably my fault but most of the designs are trying to hit on the patriotic side too much. While I don't mind the patriotism being in there, it needs to be a subtle undercurrent rather than focus. If red and blue are too be used, they need to be the dark blue and deep red so to remain more masculine in appearance. Please don't rule out using other colors and being restricted. Masculine use of colors is what I'm after so a yellow could work if used right.
You guys are the creative people so I don't want to limit your imagination on ANY aspect of your design.
I need the logo to say we're a first rate, professional, knowledgable organization that cares about your safety and training but we're also capable of kicking ass if needed.
*******I think a cool company slogan could go a long ways. Something like "Train. Defend. Live". Certainly not set on that but its not bad. Something that speaks to freedoms, responsibility, honor, courage, duty, training, knowledge, experts, skills, confidence, etc
Some examples of slogans that I like are:
United States Shooting Academy: "Win the Fight" - They also have a very cool logo. Springfield Armory: "Bring Enough Gun"
The police use "To Protect & Serve", Boy Scouts use "Be Prepared", Marines use "Semper Fidelis" (Always Faithful). I don't know...maybe something meaningful but written in Latin????
Another thought instead of using a gun silhouette would be to use a human sillhouette in a tactical position -not target shooting - such as a shooter kneeling on one knee and a handgun extended out or any other "tactical" position. Not asking for this specifically, just another thought.
An additional thought would be to use symbols that incorporate defensive mindsets into the designs - a Spartan helmet or a shield or other images that evoke the thought of defense.
Just wanted to say a group "Thank You"! You guys are awesome and your design skills are amazing. I'm truly loving this process. My heart skips a beat everytime I see there's some new designs. Bless you guys.
Again, another thank you to the group. I wanted you to know that of the top several entries, there is no clear cut #1 at this time. I am anxiously awaiting to see what each of you can do to further amaze me with your logos.
It's been fun ? I have seen many good designers over the years? But this group ?This group of designers are the finest I have ever seen in any one place. It's been alot of fun working with you all. Simper Fi
