Thank you very much for submitting your concept. I really like it. My first thoughts are:
Like the simple nature of the design and the shield in the middle provides a very nice detail and also brings "defense" to mind. I'm not sure what the "wings" are on either side of the shield but I kind of like the thought of having something there. I like the star in the middle of the shield and wonder what else might be placed there that would denote strength and defense. Don't know, the star may be perfect???
Our logo will be placed on black shirts and black hats so there will need to be a gun-metal or steel gray border or something that will allow the words and design to stand-out against the black.
I also think this is a perfect design to have a tag line or motto added.
Again, thank you so-much...I really like this and can't wait to see where you take it. I think your design has some very strong potential.
#111 - Wings behind the shield. I REALLY like that. Thank you.
I think you could play around with the font and look at what image is in the center of the shield. I like the star OK but wonder what a pistol or ??? might look like.
Also, will need to figure out the lettering as our logo will generally be placed against a black background. It might be nice to have the lettering in a black color as it currently exists and a lighter color that will really pop against the black backgrounds.
#113 - I like the concept of the sword and shield but I think the sword, shield, and wings are a bit much.
I think I lean towards just the wings and can even imagine them a little larger to cover more of the "Stillwater Armory". I like where you're going with this...
If there's a logo with just swords and shield, I think the shield would need to be smaller to emphasize the swords more...which I might really like.
#114 - I actually REALLY like the gold color added to the swords. I'm not a fan of the green shield.
I like the gold swords so much, I think I would like to see the shield/sword design with no wings and the shield smaller so the swords are emphasized more.
I'm still a big fan of the wings and think they could be even larger.
#114 - I like the swords on the shield. I like the swords so much you could easily drop the star.
I'm not a fan of the green.
If we go with a shield/sword design, I think it will be very important to add a tag line or motto such as "Firearms -*- Training" so it doesn't look like we're some kind of medieval supply shop.
#135 - I think I like this one best using the star and the swords but it doesn't speak to what we do. I can see the trouble in #136 & #137 trying to figure out the spacing on "Firearms - Training". Not sure were to go with that. I think the idea is still very solid and would love to see some other ideas along these lines.
#111 - I still really like this concept as well.
#138 - I like the gold star in the middle of the shield. I don't like how the wings cover part of the name. I love the concept of the wings covering (protecting) Stillwater Armory. Maybe you could play around with that concept a little more.

#141 - I like this one a lot. This is getting very picky, but I don't like that the wings just touch the letters. I would like there to be a very small space there. Need the "What do we do?" on the logo in my opinion. Still wish the wings could be bigger but not touch the letters???
#142 - Don't like the the color of the shield.
#143 - VERY interesting concept with the rifles. I like the color in the shield...could it be more gold and less orange?
#144 - Don't like the rifle colors.
#145 & #146 & #148 - Too much going on. I think either swords or rifles or wings.
#147 - I like this one. Still need to figure out something that ties the logo into the "motto". The "Firearms and Training" look like an afterthought on this one.
Chris, I can't thank you enough for your work. These are great designs and real contenders. At some point, you'll need to address this logo against a black background. It might be as easy as changing the letters from black to silver but I would like to see it as that will be a primary use of the logo.
I'm not looking for one or the other. A couple of designs I've really liked happen to be badges but you have the only non-badge design that I really like.
I've settled on the wing design as my favorite. I really like #153 & #154. Would it be possible to put a silver edging to the shield that would give it a little bit of 3D effect but really serve to make it stand out against the black background?
I would also like to see the design where the star was more gold (like the trophies you've won).
This design is a serious contender. I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to add that "what is Stillwater Armory?" to the design. I don't know if its using one of the mottos I've suggested or somehow adding a handgun to the logo or ???
I really would like to see this design continue to evolve as its definitely one of my favorites.
