#48 - Thank you so much for the entry. I truly appreciate your efforts.

I really like #48. It puts me in mind of one of my favorite all time handguns. The Sig P229 Equinox. What they did on this gun is take a black gun and then polished all the raised surfaces. If you do an image search for Sig P229 Equinox, you'll see what I mean.

Love:
The toughness of the logo
Really love that the badge/shield looks metal and was bolted together.***

Like:
The SA portion of the logo. Font is OK, but not my favorite.
The guns portrayed in #48 are my favorites.
I'm so-so on the "wings"

Wants:
This logo will be primarily used to embroidery onto black shirts and hats. I'm a little concerned it is so dark overall. I love the concept of the thing being bolted together so could you lighten it up so that the bolted appearance stands out even more and will show up well against a black shirt?

Not a Fan of:
The bullet holes.
The slogan is not my favorite but once we have a design down, it will be easy to incorporate a cool slogan under the shield. I would like to see other thoughts, or Latin possibly, used under the shield.

I really like this design. Thanks again for the entires.

Will also put a version without wings and bullet holes. Also will put a version only white against black fundal. I guess white embroidery against black fabric will do the job I've done with those shades.

This is the version in solid colors you will use for the embroidery. The natural shine of the embroidery will replace what I've tried here to do woth shades of gray.

#57 - Possibility 1: There is a very subtle silver or white line that runs along the edge of the portion of the shield which is bolted on that gives it a 3D look. I would like to see that enhanced so the the 3D look is even more pronounced.

Possibility 2: I would REALLY like to see the two portions of the shield in contrasting colors with the lettering and graphics the same color as the outer portion of the shield. For example, use the brushed sliver currently on the "SA" and apply that same color to the outer rim of the shield. Keep the screws/bolts in black so there would really be a lot of contrast.
Outer portion of shield, letters, and graphics could be the brushed silver. That will help it stand out against a black shirt.
Inner portion of shield and screw/bolt heads could be the brushed black currently on the outer portion of the shield.

I would also like to see some different fonts used. The current font is OK, but not great.

I'm very excited to see what you can do with my thoughts outlined under Possibility 2.

Thanks

Hey! Is great working with you. Will provide those possibilities tomorrow morning (my time). Will take a rest for today as here is 11 PM already. Looking forward to create a great logo together. Also I'm thinking about some slogans to go well with. Have a nice day there!

Sleep? Who needs sleep?

#70 - I really like this. I think the silver portion will really cause the logo to pop against the black backgrounds. Not a fan of the star, probably need to drop that. I think that with the way the silver pops out so much, you can back down the 3-D effect some.

The black background in the center of the shield needs a little bit of effects as well. The earlier designs had some portions that were almost entirely black but just a touch of silver that really gave it that black steel look instead of just a block of black color. I think this is important to tie the two portions of the shield together.

I prefer the more subtle pistols from #69. What else could be in the center of the shield instead of pistols? Crossed swords?, Spartan helmet?, Fist holding an olive branch?, Crossed muskets? May not be enough room to do too much.

Still not a fan of the font and prefer the earlier font to this new one.

Thank you very much...this design is absolutely a top contender.

Ok, added some new proposals considering your suggestions. Here they are: #74, #75, #76

I like the SA angled as in #76.

Still haven't found that font that gets me rolling...sorry.

I probably like the pistol best (#75) of the new center pieces but the helmet is way cool and continues to grow on me. I think I might prefer the pistols as in #57. I don't know if its the two pistols or the pistols being a little more subtle...I think its the subtle aspect of #57.

I would like to see the black background used in the center more along the lines of the black outer portion in #57.

I showed this design to the embroidery company and they had serious concerns about "Stillwater Armory" being able to show up when used on caps and shirt pockets due to the small size. May need to address that in some way.

I've also added a comment in the general section that could be applied to the inner portion of the shield.

Still one of my favorites and has a ton of potential.

First, thanks so much for the quick responses and dozens of variations. You're great to work with.

#78 - I like the font used on SA - Its my favorite so far.
If you could modify 78, I would like to see the following:
1. Add a little more black to the outer silver portion...darken it just slightly
2. Add a little more silver to the gun...make it stand out just a little more
3. Add a little more silver to the black background to tie it in with the outer portion a little more. While I like the contrast, I liked the earlier versions where there was virtually no contrast between the outer and inner portions. If I gave the contrast on shield 57 a score of 1 and the contrast on shield 78 a score of 10, try to hit somewhere around a 6 or 7.

I would like to see an additional design with all the modifications described above but use the 2 guns from #69 instead of the single gun.

#80 - I like the crossed rifles. Not a fan of the font. Use the font from #78 with the rifles and see what we get.

Again, thank you VERY much.

#84 - One last thing. Increase the silver on the left side of the outer portion OR add an almost pure steel gray/silver line around the entire shield so it will stand out against the black background.

Other than that, I don't know what else could be done. All I would ask is you not sit back and relax but keep thinking of anything else that might be wonderful.

You've done a fantastic job and I am very grateful.

#85 - We completely lost the gradient effect on the left side of the logo. Need just a little black in there to keep the look consistent. Just not quite as dark as it was on #84.
