Color Preferences
We'd like primary colors being black (shading or "grayscaled") and gold (shading or "grayscaled"), We are open to accent colors of either sage green or grayish blue. We want the font to have some dimension (shading or grayscaled), but we don't want 3D clipart.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
In an attempt to give you guys inspiration that is helpful to obtaining a unique, kick ass logo I'd like to give you some descriptions of us.
Silva Gonsalves, Inc. is comprised of two licensed professionals in our early 30's. I'm an attorney (Gonsalves) and my partner (Silva) is in accounting. I do law, she does numbers. We've worked in the tax/law industry for several years. Our business is serious, as it is legal, but we would like to portray through our logo, the fact that we are fresh, confident, compassionate, ethical, and fiercely dedicated to our clients. We don't want to send the message that we're stuffy, nor too playful. We want to portray, sleek, agile, knowledgeable, and savvy.
For these reasons we started playing with the idea of a lioness. A creature that is sleek, agile, protects the brood, but also hunts and provides. We don't want to portray bitchy because we certainly are not feminist man haters. We want to portray the law and justice, because that is what we do, we advocate for our clients before the IRS. Our clients are "the common man." Our clients owe back taxes and need help negotiating settlements of their debt with government agencies.
We like the idea of a lioness and the scales of justice. We like the idea of a lioness leaping from a worse position (on the left as depicted by the scales of justice having its lefthand scale lower than the scale on the right) to a better position (the higher scale on the right) with the idea being that we help our clients to tackle problems they put off, but can't put off forever-and get them to a better place. We want them to hire us and know they are in good, ethical hands.
We do not want a male lion and we do not want anything moving to the left, as we believe this will communicate going the wrong way...namely, backward, instead of forward in their lives, to a better situation.
We do not want clipart. We want dimension, but please stay away from 3D. We want clean, sophisticated, professional, but edgy. We are open to your ideas beyond a lioness and the scales of justice. I'm hoping that you guys can imagine young, attractive professionals, who are smart, determined, ethical and strong - but also cool to talk to, reassuring, hard working.
We like the use of black to depict sleek. We like the idea of a lioness in an aggressive pose to depict action, because our clients are procrastinators, but we want our lioness pouncing calculatedly forward and up. We like the idea of a lioness's silhouette, as it is subtle. Subtlety is good.
We are interested in more original renderings and we are not graphic designers, so we need your help and your creative ideas.

We are open minded to other images that might depict our personalities as we have described. We welcome it.

Fonts have been attached to this brief. We particularly like the color and shape of the fonts for the company named "BonSecour Capital."

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

So far we have great entries! We want to remind everyone that we are looking for abstract, subtle imagery, not LOUD and obvious. We want to make sure that we attract wealthy individuals, as well as the common man, so we have to make the image look sophisticated. We suggested the lioness in gold, but if that looks too playful or is too LOUD, then please see if there is any other creative way to make the feel of the Entire logo look serious and sophisticated and quiet.

Serious, sophisticated, and quiet is key.

We really like to stay away from standard lioness image (too obvious, we want subtle). Perhaps try to work with the outline of the creature (full body, partial body outlines) and extend those lines in a creative way.

We hope our direction is helpful, but we are also learning our likes and dislikes based on our direction as the contest moves along.

Also, we would encourage positioning styles (image can be to the left instead of above our names) to see how that would look as well.

Thanks to you all!
