Goal: Establish an annual fundraiser to support the Rotary Club of Westerville and a Veteran’s organization. A portion of the net proceeds will be shared with an annually alternating Veteran’s organization (e.g. Honor Flight, VFW, Wounded Warriors, Disabled American Vets) Theme: Rotary’s 5K Walk/Run for Veterans will be an annual event to be held the weekend prior to Veteran’s Day. The event will be designed to recognize and honor groups or individuals that have demonstrated “Service Above Self.” The event will have a festive atmosphere with U.S Flags lining the start/finish line. We will secure a musical band to play patriotic songs at the start/finish. We will work with a Veteran’s organization to provide an Honor Guard or Color Guard at the start.
