We partner with hospitals to improve (modernize) their interactions and communication with consumers and employees.

Color Preferences
We like green, as well as taupe / beige.
As accent colors, we like yellow, maybe gold (if it is subtle), and maybe grey.
We want avoid too much blue.
We would prefer to avoid red or purple.
That said, if a concept looks great in a color combination that isn't green / yellow, we would love to entertain it.
We're looking for vibrant, but not fiery.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We love the http://www.michigan.org commercial (not necessarily the lettermark or the website, but the feel of the television commercials).

We hate Northwestern Memorial's website: http://www.nmh.org. It is cold and unfeeling. This is part of why we want to avoid blue/grey.

We like that the winning logo's font in this contest:
https://logotournament.com/contests/amani_global_works
It is not so much the font; it is that the font is unusual and used well here. To have a rare / unique / unusual font would be wonderful.

We both like the winning logo in this contest:
https://logotournament.com/contests/coppergems
because although the colours might not work for us, the designer did a great job with texture. The font is cool, too.

We like the idea of this logo:
https://logotournament.com/contests/bartlett_square
And for something like that, our four areas are:
~Education
~Quality
~Design
~Content / Writing

We found the winner of this contest attractive:
https://logotournament.com/contests/adira_psychological_centre
Because the font is creative, and the emblem is separate (to the left) but tied to the name of the business (to the right).

The partners like trees. This is a logo from a previous contest of ours:

bikinSendiri, thank you for the entries! My immediate reactions:
#1 and #2 : I think we're looking for a more sophisticated font.
We'd like to see more vibrant greens -- more along the lines of celery, or sage. Olive doesn't convey the right feel for our business.
I like that logo #1 has the word "Interactive" in a position that is easy to delete. We may end up branding with only "Iris Eir," sans the word interactive.
We'd like the abstract image to convey communication. The globe idea is a bit too general.
Thanks again!

About our name: Iris is the messenger of the gods, and Eir (pronunciation is close to "air") is the Norse goddess of healing. We do not want our name to be the focal point of the logo; rather, we'd like an abstract mark or emblem that can stand alone without the name. We do not want to incorporate pictures of gods or goddesses in our image, unless it can be done in some cool, unusual, unexpected way (like the Starbucks emblem). We are both attracted to plant-related concepts, but not married to the idea.

Re: Plant-related concepts: I like the idea of something organic and plant-related; however, I think we both agree that we don't really want flowers (especially not an iris) as part of the logo. We don't want anything obvious (like a cross or anything that is often associated with health or healthcare. Don't be afraid to throw things out there, and don't necessarily go with our "slider" concepts because what we think of masculine or feminine might be different than what you think of when you think of the same concept. Creativity goes a long way with us. We took a LONG TIME to come up with a name that was different and had meaning that we could relate to our business without being obvious.

I personally like the idea of anything that represents nourishment, growth, "green"....but likely in an abstract way. Does that make any sense to anyone other than me?

Hello,

We really like the color and font updates for #21 et al. Thank you!

We've been talking about how we wish to brand. Helen finds the BP logo attractive. I think this is likely because it has a clean yet organic feel. It is simple, repetitive, straightforward, and bit retro. My guess is that it is an abstract green flower b/c BP wants to communicate that they are a "green" company at heart. Their logo serves them well in that respect.

For us, we went a logo that communicates the following:
~Vitality
~Life
~Health
~Creativity
~Intricacy
~Attention to detail
~Accuracy
~Thoroughness
~Writing that is smooth & flows
~Interest / excitement
~Warmth
~Strength

And our clients will appreciate professional, subtle, corporate undertones. We definitely don't want anything that leans toward being feminine or subdued.

I should throw this out there. We were entirely convinced that Iris Eir should be our company name, but now we're not sure. So we'd like to have logos in which we can switch out the name portion if necessary. We're waiting to find out if we can do so via the contest entries, but if not, we'd like our logo/emblem to be separate from the text if possible (as they have been so far). Thanks!

I've been looking for logos I like, but I can't paste them here. I found this page, and on it, there are many I like: http://www.fuelyourcreativity.com/50-kick-ass-logos-for-inspiration/

Eden
Glowe
TMIINT

There are two that use elements (circles and such) to create other images: interface fix and blue giraffe. I like that idea. I have seen some great logos that use this type of idea in the design.

Because I'm not an artist or a graphic designer, and I haven't studied it, it's difficult for me to express what I'm looking for until I see it.

I do know that I really like the idea of having an emblem - it doesn't even have to have our name in it (in fact, I think it's better if it doesn't). I would love it if the emblem sparked an emotional response and that could eventually become well known in the industry (kind of like Apple, Starbucks, World Wildlife Fund, etc.) I don't know if this helps, but I like trees, leaves, blades of grass....but abstract may work better for me. Also, I like the idea of a shape with a mosaic tiling inside it. I don't know if that's how to describe it. I have been working on something. I took a photo of a leaf that was starting to turn, and I added a filter in a photo editing program, so now it looks like a multi-colored impressionist leaf. I like the idea of something like that within a leaf, or that sort of gradient in a font. I am sorry I can't describe this better, and I wish I could present an image of what I'm working on so you'd have something concrete to work with. The colors in the leaf are green, yellow/gold, orange/rust/red. I also like browns (light, beige, taupe, tan, etc.) Earth tones are good. Blues are fine as long as they are not prominant because I don't want something to feel cold. Warm tones are better for me - although the greens don't have to be warm.

I'll try to give more feedback later with more logo examples.

Here's a page with a bunch of logos I like.

I have noticed that I also like subtle refection in logos, but only in some of them. http://visionwidget.com/showcase/graphics/519-fresh-creative-logos-designs.html

You guys are doing great with our feedback! Thank you! What I like about the recent entries in general: They are simple (but not too simple) and visually appealing (but not too feminine). They have color gradient, which is great. And I like those that have incorporated the subtle reflections.

Do any of you have ideas for incorporating leaves or trees in an abstract way? (I think some of you have already done that, and that is why I like the new logos more than I have the earlier ones....but what I see and what you meant to portray might not be the same thing). Keep up the great work! And thank you!

Thank you for all of your additions and changes! Here's another thing to think about. Both of us like two of the top logo designs in this contest: https://logotournament.com/contests/fresh_mint_media We like the pixelation and gradient in the leaf in 108 (the winner), and we like the bold, fresh colors in #26. We're not sure we want ours to be that colorful, but perhaps we do. It's worth a shot.

I also like the idea of bokeh-like details. Is that something do-able?

Fantastic entries everyone! I love the creativity, and it has sparked some ideas for me.

Who is willing to try something like this (I'll try to describe it):

Four leaves (or something like leaves or petals) in a pinwheel type shape (or just a four leaf flower, clover, whatever) that all have different colors or gradients of color. I imagine that each one is a different color, and all of them have some sort of gradient change within them or pixelation or bokeh-like feel within them. I am imagining something that represents the four focus areas of our business: content creation, healthcare quality consultants, marketing, and online education. These don't need to be literal representations of the areas of the business, but something slightly unique for each one to represent four distinct parts of one whole. Does this make sense? I think that many of these logos could be transformed into this theme.

That said, I'm not sure I will like it when I see it, but I do think it could be very cool. All of your work has inspired me. You all have great talent and imagination. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Thank you all for submitting! We're having a really tough time deciding - not only on design, but also on color schemes. We will likely take a while to truly rank and choose once this is finished, so we hope you won't withdraw your entries if you're ranked. Thank you again!
