What We Do
WFRN is a family friendly, contemporary music Christian radio station (though we do NOT brand "Christian" in our logos).

Color Preferences
We would like to stick to a more basic set of colors as we will need to duplicate our logo on mugs, banners and other promotional items, yet we could have a more detailed version to use on the web and video. Our colors can vary - stay away from formal dark grays and blacks as well as something so bright and flashy it looks "cartoonish". Something in between is best.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We likely will want the new logo to be in the same "family" as our current logo, at least in the sense that one could recognize the logo's evolution into the new design. (Visit www.wfrn.com to see current logo)... We would like to have the option of including a ".com" in our logo (though not overly pronounced) as well as to have the logo with our without our radio frequencies. Our main frequency is 104.7, although at times we will need to display 93.7 instead of the 104.7

We had been thinking that it would be nice if the new logo was an update of the old logo and yet in the same general "family". Although,we do not want to sacrifice the "freshness" of the new logo because of this. The overriding goal is to get a new, quality design. This wasn't posted in the original logo request that we made, but the frequency needs to be of a good size and we willl need our logo to be seen legibily from a distance (on signage at events, on our station vehicle, etc.)

A note to future logo entry designers... Please read through our Contest Brief before entering a design as we need our frequency 104.7 of a good visible size in the design as well as ".com" (though this can be much smaller).

PLEASE NOTE the elements that we want to avoid in our design due to similar radio station logos in our market: A "hearbeat" symbol (as on #4) and "digital sound bars" as on #20. I really liked the brightness and pictoral elements of #20 and moved it over into the "non-interesting" catagory ONLY because I was afraid other artists would use the "digital sound bar" concept.

Also, regardless of the style of logos on our "Favorites" list. Please feel free to come up with something totally different. Often in design, a client doesn't know specifically what they want until someone gives them the options and we are using this website to generate a lot of options.

As the contest is ending in just a few hours... I want to thank everyone who has submitted entries, especially those who have taken my suggestions and done multiple revisions. Although Logo Tournament has some great qualities, it is unfortunate that only one artist can win the contest. WFRN is open to finding additional graphic artists to assist us in designing our promotional products and marketing material. This includes, but is not limited to designing: mailing postcards, billboards, t-shirts, promotional contest logos and especially web banners of varying sizes. If you have an online portfolio of examples of some of these types of graphics and are interested in doing work for us, please email me, Rachelle Brandt at: rbrandt@wfrn.com and use "Logo Tournament" in the email subject.
