Earth tones would be appropriate (browns/tans/greens), but don't rule out dark blues, burgundy/dark reds or black/grey. Colors should NOT be pastel, neon or overly bright.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Attached is a logo representing an affiliate company to this new real estate company--Wyoming Club Real Estate & Title. The client likes the simplicity and elegance of this logo/type as well as the hierarchy of the words (more focus on Wyoming Club). The font should be sturdy, purposeful and lean toward masculine. It should NOT be scripty, cursive or feminine. The logo should be simple and elegant (see Park Hill and Evergreen), not busy with too many elements (see Hunter Blair, Kingston Homes). The client wishes to portray a business with sellers and buyers in Wyoming and South Dakota, states with wide open spaces and big sky. However, it is most important to convey elegance. Icons that might be considered in the design would be a skeleton key (see attached image), a western icon weathervane (i.e. horse, star, cowboy hat, horseshoe, farm windmill...see attached image). The logo could also just be all type, but if that direction is explored, Western Elegance should be more prominent. The design should be classy, not whimsical. Feel free to feature WE in the design as well.

Thanks designers for getting this started. Overall, these directions are feeling too formal/too corporate. My client's business represents sellers and buyers looking for real estate in Wyoming/South Dakota. Accordingly, the designs should have a "western" feel. Some people will be buying or selling ranch property...large acreage where horses can be ridden. This is the land of big sky and Old West history.

Here is a link to classic cattle brands (https://www.google.com/search?q=cattle+brands&client=firefox-a&hs=loh&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=lxJ0UtWxHsL4yQHInoGQCA&ved=0CCsQsAQ&biw=1168&bih=763#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=MI1NoH78Q8dBFM%3A%3BoLWdr0o6FARiJM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.aces.edu%252Fpubs%252Fdocs%252FY%252FYANR-0101%252Fimages%252Fimg_3.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.aces.edu%252Fpubs%252Fdocs%252FY%252FYANR-0101%252Findex2.tmpl%3B372%3B374)

I'm not saying to literally incorporate any of these, but your designs could be influenced by the simplicity and authenticity of these. Have fun!

Hello everyone...I've been traveling this weekend (USA time) and looking to enjoy my time off a little, which is why I haven't been quick to respond to your designs. Keep up the good work and I'll look to respond more on my Monday morning (USA time). Overall, the designs that look more rustic and less refined are going to be better received by my client than the more formal, corporate and busy design versions. Wood is good, using the W is good and feel free to curve the type font if that helps in your design. Remember that this business is in the Midwestern United States, wide open ranch country and people looking to own in the region want to enjoy a western lifestyle away from urban city life.

I've been awaiting input from colleagues on the marketing and sales team...those comments should be given today or early on Friday (USA time). Please be patient.
