Interesting directions...W sort of looks like a old barn nail shaped into a letter. What would you think about replacing the W with a territorial barn (or loose interpretation of one)? Or maybe a keyhole from an old iron lock...Font feels pretty much in the zone. I have two colleagues looking at the designs and I appreciate that the contest ends in the AM (MST). If you have time to adjust, great.
...that loop in the W is leaning a bit towards breast cancer awareness...perhaps consider making it a true W. That might give you the opportunity to make it more like a cattle brand...at least in Entry #118. Kind of a bar or yoke over the W. Maybe an Arts & Crafts style lantern or horse head door knocker could be the icon vs the W.
The loop was meant to represent a keyhole... Hence the couple entries with the skeleton key thru it was meant to be a lock and key to a new home perhaps.? I will work on refining it to look more like a lock and try some of your suggestions as well. Thanks for the feedback.
Entry #179 may be better received by my client if you simplified the overall design. Perhaps if you deleted the weathervane then shrunk the barn and put it between WESTERN ELEGANCE, that might look interesting. Or perhaps delete the barn and use the weathervane between the words. Or put a cupola with a wind vane on top between those two words. Simple is better. Thx
Kyle, in my last post think of Entry #118, but instead of the W between the two words, put the barn, the weathervane (maybe just the wheel/fan) or the cupola w a weathervane. Maybe the weathervane has a horse. That would simplify the design and have the elegance I believe my client seeks.
Kyle, you may have seen that the contest was extended four days. The client was hoping to see a mark that more resembled the logo of one of his current companies...(see WCRE&T Logo Art.jpg, 28KB in Contest Brief). If you're game, see if you can take Entry # 117, #118 and or #119 and tweak those in the spirit of that. They certainly don't have to match, just be closer to his cattle brand. Thx
