Thanks for getting into the contest. Here are observations on your early efforts. The all CAPS in Western Elegance is a good direction, but overall your designs are too formal or too corporate. My client's business is in the rural west of the USA far from urban centers. Accordingly, the WE (for example) in most of your entries would be better presented as a cattle brand or less refined type font (rough edges, if you will). In Entry #10, 11 and 12 the four letter square is too precise, if that makes sense. Feel free to incorporate other elements from the Old West as you refine your designs.
Nice effort on #22 and #23 with the interpretation of the brands. The font is still a little feminine, so explore a sturdier font. Entry #22 with the fence posts is interesting (if that is what you had in mind). Would like to see the farm windmill or horse weathervane incorporated if that suits you.
beloempoenjanama, you may have seen that the contest was extended four days. The client was hoping to see a mark that more resembled the logo of one of his current companies...(see WCRE&T Logo Art.jpg, 28KB in Contest Brief). If you're interested, see if you can take Entry # 6 and #9 and adjust those in the spirit of that. They certainly don't have to match, just be closer to a cattle brand. Thx
