Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our website is oceanocommunity.com

If there is going to be imagery - I would like to see a body sitting in a meditator position and a surfer. These could be abstract. And / or maybe even a person sitting or standing with their arms out wide in a joyful or welcoming position. Maybe a body could be sitting in the buddha sitting position but with their arms wide open. A Lotus flower symbol could be the right thing also. This implies yoga without saying it outright. I am unclear and need help! I'm thinking that all lower case letters instead of what we have - all upper case - might be the way to go - Since we have an "O" on each end and O looks the same either way, that makes it easy there.

We're really looking for a one or 2 color logo . and lower case letters and modern. There are some great starts here but let's keep looking. Please get creative with your letters.
Thank you!

I'm seeing something with the "e" and the "a" where they could almost form a yin yang type of circle in the middle and be right at the heart center of a being sitting with arms wide open instead of in a prayer position. Clean modern lower case letters please. Number one is on track up there.

There are really only 7 or so people who have worked on this. Not really what the website promises. I feel like I'm giving good feedback here - can we see some more entries? If you have direct questions, please ask them. Thank you.

I's like to see her arms wide open - out to a T. Either embracing the word "ocean" or above it. Oceano can run across her chest. Can someone give us that?

Thank the lords. Kassai just showed up with some fresh energy. I'm heading out for some exercise for several hours. Let it be known to new artist that your work is welcome. I will review later. I have had some awesome people working on this but we are way under what the website promises in terms of submissions. No offense to the amazing people who have contributed. Keep bringing the fresh energy. i'm back in a few hours.

No one else is going to chime in late? We really only have 3 solid contenders here. If you are 4th -7th it's still wide open. Can you up your contribution? Look at what we like and take it to a higher level or somewhere else. I would love to see some font variation here.

Thank you to all of our Finalists. We greatly appreciate your work and your talents.

This has been a discovery process for us. Now we have 46 hours to look at final submissions.

Clarity for you.
1. We want a Word Mark that we can use in one color if we need to which still looks great.
2. We need a format which in some way - will fit into a square well, for Twitter and other applications so a recognizable Pictorial Mark is likely a good way to fit that format.
3. We want lower case letters. Oceano is a masculine word in Spanish and we feel it is neutralized a little by using lower case.
4. There is symmetry to the the word "oceano" in lower case. In fact we have an "o" on each end and the "e" and the "a" in the middle can be the same letter flipped. It is like a backwards 69, so of course we love that! Please utilize it - (it doesn't have to look like a 69 - just having fun) .
5. We like "ocean" in a more compressed or neutral form. Not elongated - at times - we may use the Word Mark on it's own without the Pictorial Mark. If you have a space at the bottom of the Pictorial Mark where we could later, insert the Word Mark, that would be helpful. In this case, that would most likely be the ocean as we would like you to use a wave image in your Pictorial Mark. Medium to thin letters seem to be working best for us.
6. Most of the time we will use the Pictorial Mark and the Word Mark together. In some cases, like twitter, we may use just the Pictorial Mark. In other cases like stenciling the name on property items or gates, we may use just the Word Mark.
7. We gave you the elements: Wave, Lotus, Surfer, Yoga/Meditaion/Happy person pose. None of them have to be obvious and maybe you don't use all of them. A nice looking wave or a barreling wave, tells surfers that we have good waves - the image may not need a surfer in it, but we are also not against that.
8. Multi-color designs are good but imagine that if the logo is on a black and white printer, that it also works that way as well. Make it flexible. Ideally we will stay with either just blue, just white, just blue and green, just blue and gold.

8 is a lucky number so let's stop there! Please ask questions if you need more direction. Some of you we would like to see start over or make an addition. Others are already close.

Thank you and good luck! We will stay as available as possible to give you feedback.

On further review we are deciding that it is likely better to leave a surfer out of the imagery. Focus on lotus, wave and joyful figure. thank you. We've decided that the surfer feels exclusive. No surfer

Hey Designers / Artists. You are all using about the same font and we really ARE NOT liking this FONT. We want something more sophisticated and luxurious. Something more formal and exclusive feeling. We love some of the letter marks. Can you send us some fonts and letters that are more creative and beautiful.

Please do not pull your submissions. One of the aritsts who was much higher in the ranking than we showed in our placement has pulled his work. We are still open and making decisions. We have already photographed your work anyway, so pulling it is only going to hurt you. Please compete to the end. We are actively receiving input from associates. We were encouraging the artist who pulled his work to develop a new design but we were quite interested in the one he had posted. We've all put alot of energy into this. Please stay with us and play until the end.
Thank you. :)

OK - THE "e" "a" thing DID NOT work, so we are letting go of that. We are still deciding. The fonts look OK otherwise but we still are not sure about font. We're surprised that none of you have just sent renditions with several different fonts, while the "O" remains the same.
This is so difficult. Please bear with us. There could be last minute decisions. Additionally, we may need to make a deal on the side with another of you so please be contactable after the contest.

Thank you.
