Thank you to all of our Finalists. We greatly appreciate your work and your talents.
This has been a discovery process for us. Now we have 46 hours to look at final submissions.
Clarity for you.
1. We want a Word Mark that we can use in one color if we need to which still looks great.
2. We need a format which in some way - will fit into a square well, for Twitter and other applications so a recognizable Pictorial Mark is likely a good way to fit that format.
3. We want lower case letters. Oceano is a masculine word in Spanish and we feel it is neutralized a little by using lower case.
4. There is symmetry to the the word "oceano" in lower case. In fact we have an "o" on each end and the "e" and the "a" in the middle can be the same letter flipped. It is like a backwards 69, so of course we love that! Please utilize it - (it doesn't have to look like a 69 - just having fun) .
5. We like "ocean" in a more compressed or neutral form. Not elongated - at times - we may use the Word Mark on it's own without the Pictorial Mark. If you have a space at the bottom of the Pictorial Mark where we could later, insert the Word Mark, that would be helpful. In this case, that would most likely be the ocean as we would like you to use a wave image in your Pictorial Mark. Medium to thin letters seem to be working best for us.
6. Most of the time we will use the Pictorial Mark and the Word Mark together. In some cases, like twitter, we may use just the Pictorial Mark. In other cases like stenciling the name on property items or gates, we may use just the Word Mark.
7. We gave you the elements: Wave, Lotus, Surfer, Yoga/Meditaion/Happy person pose. None of them have to be obvious and maybe you don't use all of them. A nice looking wave or a barreling wave, tells surfers that we have good waves - the image may not need a surfer in it, but we are also not against that.
8. Multi-color designs are good but imagine that if the logo is on a black and white printer, that it also works that way as well. Make it flexible. Ideally we will stay with either just blue, just white, just blue and green, just blue and gold.
8 is a lucky number so let's stop there! Please ask questions if you need more direction. Some of you we would like to see start over or make an addition. Others are already close.
Thank you and good luck! We will stay as available as possible to give you feedback.
