#1: even if it´s quite early for comments: the pipe symbol unfortunately is misleading. VitaSmoke is offering an electric Cigarette, not a pipe. Cigarette and pipe are two completely different items from a user´s point of view.

#2: for TV production reasons and usability: black background is "suboptimal". Black as a colour is associated with negative aspects (ash, dead, ...)

to all:

VitaSmoke is a very innovative product. If you want to look it up on the internet, watch for instance here: http://www.bestecig.com/products.asp?bid=6

It looks like a normal cigarette. But the functionality is completely different. Vitasmoke consists of a buil -in rechargeable mini power cell and an atomizer. At the back end of the Vitasmoke there is a depot filled with just a few drops of a special, flavoured liquid which can be refilled.

As soon as the user sucks on the Vitasmoke, the mechanism starts atomizing the liquid, heating it slightly and producing flavoured steam. This steam can be inhaled like the smoke of a cigarette, it tastes comparable and if the user wants it even contains nicotin.

It looks like smoke, but it is not. You can compare it most likely with the mechanism of fog machines.

So it is much healthier than normal smoking and you do not have all the negative effects of cigarettes, harming your health, the bad smell, tar, problems with your environment etc etc. Nonetheless you do not have to abstrain from "smoking".

So for the logo it is extremely important, that it looks positive, expresses health and cleanness and the benefits of this innovative product.

We will present vitasmoke in direct response television spots of 15 minutes, 10 minutes and some shorter ones. And we will offer the product on our website www.vitasmoke.de (to be built after being clear with the logo and the main colours).

#11 --> a really simple approach to express health and cleanness, I like this way of thinking.
The leaves could be worked out a little bit more, the colours of the leaves and the letters as well could be darker, with more contrast. Also the font could be bolder.

I also like the splitting up of the two words Vita and Smoke.

#12 --> the symbol (don´t know the english word, in German it´s called "Äskulap-Stab") is also an easy to understand, simple way to communicate the health aspect. I like the approach.

It´s also an advantage of the logo that it has a symbol, which also can work without the brandname.

Also I like green as a main colour to express nature and healthiness.

Three remarks for optimization:
a) the symbol could be a little bit more abstract, not too detailed and old fashioned. More modern and reduced. b) the font looks also a little bit old fashioned. And c) the height of the logo is too big, I would prefer a wide logo rather than a broad one (--> especially on the webside).

#5: I like the "green approach" but too much details, the brand is "lost in nature", it´s more a painting than a logo.

#14 --> Looks interesting, but I would not work with aggressive colours looking like fire etc. --> too close to normal cigarettes and combustion of tobacco. The health aspect respectively the cleanness is missing.

to all of you:
Now that we get closer to the end of this tournament I started ranking the proposals again. Now I would like to honor especially different approaches how to transfer the given briefing into an appealing, well worked out logo-proposal. Unfortunately only one of you can win in the end, but good work shall be honoured with good rankings. So not only one or two of you with lots of appealing variations with minor changes should be in the top ranks. I want to divide the top rankings among some more of you.

By the way: the contest still is open. Although I got some really great suggestions so far, brilliant ideas are allways appreciated.
