What We Do
Primarily it will be a channel on social media displaying and promoting large luxury yachts calling the Caribbean islands. I am working as a shipbroker since more than 20 years and want to use this for the support of the interaction with certain interests within the industry for large yachts, i.e. owners, brokers, builders, crews, marina operators but also enthusiasts or local governments. The industry in general is focused on A1 top level product to very demanding customers requiring extraordinary service. The logo will be used primarily in videos on social media, business cards, letter heads and at later stage on a stand alone website.
Color Preferences
Blue - representing the blue Caribbean Sea and the blue skies in that part of the world. The color blue is also traditionally used in the Navy. -> RAL 5002 / 5003
White - represents a clean color, the vast majority of super yachts are still white, most people in the world will think about a white color yacht when thinking about such vessel. -> RAL 9010 / 9003
Red - sets a good strong counter point and addition to the above colors. Yacht owners deciding to give their vessels a triple color scheme are making this yachts looking very classy - white super structure and upper deck levels, a blue hull above the water line and sometimes decorated with either a red pin stripe just above the water line or an underwater hull part which is painted red.
-> RAL 3020 / 3024.
Refer to yachts like: ALFA NERO, SYCARA V, ATTESSA IV, LIMITLESS, CARINTHIA VII, LE GRAND BLEU. Some blue variations can also be found on GO, AXIOMA, MOSAIQUE -> RAL 5012 / 5015
Worthwhile taking a look at is also IPANEMA, one of the very few examples carrying a red hull.
These three main colors I also use in another company logo which had been developed on this platform many years ago and still are appealing to me and my business partners to this day.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
There are numerous designs for shipping companies which had been proposed in the past showing three curved striped layered on top of each other trying to form a ship. No, thank you! Shipping is maritime business and the oldest form of international transportation. Either of bulk or containerized cargoes connecting the economies on all continents or the carriage of passengers. It is a very conservative industry.
Same applies for the yachting industry, although the scene is undergoing a change with younger clientele entering the market - open for new form, shapes and designs.
However, persons with money are mainly conservative. By owning a yacht they mainly like to express power, wealth, security, privacy.
A logo for "Superyachts Of The Caribbean" (web domain name) and/or "SYOTC" (mail domain) should reflect this. Personally, I prefer clarity in designs and in fonts.
A compass rose or maritime letter signal flags or similar could be interesting. But fearing it also can cause some restlessness. How to represent the Caribbean as a region in the logo? I don't know. A palm tree would not be fair and on point.
The logo must be easily blend in on letterheads, even if copied or printed in black/white or grey. As a traditional merchant with worldwide contacts it has been proven to me how important logo is next to the paper material of the business card. People do very well notice the difference.
The logo shall be also made available as a watermark used in yacht photography and in videos displayed on Youtube. Or potentially as a sticker on a white company car.
