thank you for taking part in my tournament. Only the 2nd time in ten years that I encountered the situation to develop and choose a logo. I have noticed again as the time progresses and favorite designs are starting to develop that the selection process to me became somewhat more challenging. As I have seen some very interesting approaches including their refinements.

Your proposal was very strong from the beginning. Subtle and easily understandable at the same time. But at the end my final decision has led to a different design. I like to thank you for your hard work and for the fact that you’ve been willing to share with me your creativity and time.

I actually dated a german girl, she is now in Munich, but was to far from Portugal. I love how polite and nice she was. And learned a lot of the german culture, that its way more advanced them us in Portugal eheh

I´ve submitted how that logo can be incorporated in the flag.

About others changes to be honest I wouldn´t touch much more on the brand since its clean, flat and you can really do a lot with a simple and bold logo like this on future marketing materials even for embroider purposes.

I´m sure you will know in the end the logo you will want from the contest, just go with the designer that you fell that gave you the logo that stays in your head more time, I believe that would be the one.

Hi João, I have taken an intensive look again at all your proposals which are presently online for my contest. #23 is a very strong basis from the moment I saw it first. And her direct siblings are also good. I just discover the refinement on #263, ok. That will replace then #23. In general I have a good sense for details. But when in the office and actively involving in this tournament between the normal job sometimes I wish I would have more time on my hands. But it is how it is. A project needs to move forward in stages. If there is anything what you want to draw your attention on in terms of a detail, then pls also let me know in writing. Thanks, Thomas

As you came forward with a very strong proposal from the first moment I believe we can do now only some refinements. Thanks for shaping / center the letter "Y". To put the logo in a circle, appearing like a seal is also interesting.

If you have the capacity please take a look over here at a traditional element in the maritime scene: the flag. In particular in the yachting scene: the burgee. I have worked for more than 20 years in commercial merchant shipping and it is a tradition there that ship owning companies do put their logo on a little table flag that you are exchanging with your business partners during a physical meeting...old fashioned traditions from pre pandemic times with no zoom meetings...lol

I will look again at all your proposal during my lunch break in around three hours and will try to give more feedback.

The font for the title "Superyachts" - Trajan Pro Bold. For the slogan "of the caribbean" - Gotham Medium. Both top fonts.

Looking after hours again at my fav logo of yours I still come back on the missing symmetry of the letter Y and the lowest part of your icon. I guess we should try to get it in line.

Hello João, thank you for your response and your additional proposals and developments. I am writing from the Leeward islands. It is fascinating for me to see how much a design can change in terms of strength by just changing one little detail. What I am trying to say is that I compare your initial #23 with the revised #240, U had smoothened the waves. And the expression changes right away. Although, I personally appreciate calm sees when being in/on the water. But your logo goes for me much more better with the strong peaking waves. A separation of the icon into two parts, one side aquamarine, the other black is also not my path. Working from #23 into directions as #231 and #237 is good. Can you find a symmetry of the letter "Y" in superyachts with the lowest point of your icon? What is the name of your fonts used?

Since you like the proposal and from my experience the changes might be subtle so it doesn´t remove you from it. Once you like it means it haves the vibe you want for your brand, and its intriguing thats why you can´t forget it. Since the logo its simple and bold it helps to create that memorable meaning. Even I worked a few other options based on that one so you can compare.

Hello João, your proposal remains strong with me. What can be improved? Maybe we can take a look at the symmetry of the word "SUPERYACHT" and the letter "Y" which also has a symmetry by its own shape. Furthermore, I like the font you have chosen. Traditional, conservative, clear. But maybe as an alternative also looking for something more modern.
The icon: what can be done here? The shape around it? The shield, the bow? Don't get me wrong as it stands right from the beginning it is already good, but I would like to take the chance to try with you some more refinements. I am not a designer, I realize you wish input. But not sure at this moment what could be done. I rely on your creativity.

Thank you for your input jjbq. I stopped at your propsal. The logo is not bad. The shape of a vessel's hull, together with the ocean and the sun. Clever. Conservative font for the superyachts and clean font for the Caribbean. Simple, not too complex. Good start.
