Our Ideas & Additional Information
We can refer you to our website, www.nairobipaediatrics.co.ke. The colors on the site are being adjusted, along with other elements, but we expect this to be complete by mid June 2013.

We like a vector graphic from the graphic river site that features multicultural children http://graphicriver.net/item/multicultural-children/2533453?sso?WT.ac=search_item&WT.seg_1=search_item&WT.z_author=stolenpencil. It is not absolutely mandatory that the logo incorporate this idea, but we do like the style and colors of this graphic. You can see part of it in use as a placeholder logo on our website.

If possible, it would be nice if the logo also contained the subheading DR SIDNEY NESBITT & ASSOCIATES, since he has considerable name recognition in his market. If this can be done without making the logo too "busy."

Thanks Anna.

Good morning all. I am administering the contest on behalf of Dr. Sid, who has a tight schedule. Since we have received entries from multiple designers and to keep interest up, I am going to rank now, although I will not meet with Sid to go over the designs and his preferences until this evening. It is likely we will extend the open phase for a short while. Thanks again for your entries. Lisa

Thanks all. Dr. Sid has been unable to review your designs today due to workload, and one designer requested an additional day to modify her original submission due to her teaching schedule. We have extended the open phase by one day and request your patience for a little while longer. Lisa

Ideas for dressing the children: http://www.kalulukids.com/, http://www.kasukukikoy.com/info/children.html, Google images African shirts men or African shirts boys (look at the more modern styles that look like they could be worn in USA, also some ideas for head gear). Also search images for Kanga fabric. You can see that in addition to the traditional uses, a lot of western-style clothing and accessories are now made with this fabric (bags, bracelets, hats, hair ornaments, etc.) We also do have strong Indian/Arabic influences that show up in color choices, clothing styles. Am not suggesting anyone go crazy and dress each child up in a costume. PLEASE DON'T DO THAT. The clinic's clients are middle income or well off and mostly wear the same basic clothing as children of similar income in the US or Europe or elsewhere. It's just the little touches that will make the logo "local." Those of you with whom I've discussed this may find this info useful.

Hi all, Open phase coming to an end shortly. Thanks for all of the great work. Still have not managed to meet with Dr. Sid but hope to do so later tonight or by lunchtime tomorrow. Just thought I'd better mention that we'll probably have to use the British spelling PAEDIATRICS, rather than PEDIATRICS, as some of you have done. My apologies for not noticing this sooner. Since I'm American myself, it didn't immediately leap out at me. Anyway, no need to rush in there and change things yet. Let's see what the general feedback is first. Thanks again, Lisa

OK, thanks everyone once again. There are so many wonderful variations, but I have tried to simplify things for Dr. Sid (when he finally gets time to look at your designs) by ranking one design from each of our 5 best designers at the top. There are so many different versions now that I find it difficult to rank all of the variations in comparison to each other and with the other entries with no input from the client yet. But we will definitely be going over each designer's work carefully. I hope that approach makes sense. I suspect we are looking at an extension of this phase due to workload and travel plans tomorrow. Rest assured, though, that we are keen to get the website completed and the logo is one of the major things needed, so I wouldn't expect the contest to drag on once we leave this phase. Will let you know as soon as I know something more. OK, I am pleased to report that Sid has now had a quick peek and is very impressed with your work and the wide range of options. We have invited a few key colleagues to give feedback, and Sid will look at the options in more depth tomorrow. I do feel we will need extra time in this stage and will apply for that when the Top 5 phase expires tomorrow evening. Thank you. Lisa

Thanks to everyone for your entries. Dr Sid decided not to extend the Top 5 phase as he feels he has enough choices. We will be making a decision very soon. Lisa

Apologies all, I live in a different city from the client but managed to go and have a meeting with him yesterday. We will be wrapping up the contest shortly. Lisa

Thanks to all of you for your amazing designs. Deciding was tough, and we really appreciate your willingness to try different things in search of our "local" look. All the best, Lisa

Terribly sorry, although I indicated the winner several days ago, it seems that I missed the tiny button that makes the decision final. Admin, perhaps you could have a look at making this a little more obvious? Thanks again to all, Lisa
