No "roofline" logos please. The homes are modern and have a flat roof, besides it is too "real estate company" or "general contractor" looking. I don't want our logo to look too trendy, but we are cutting edge here folks.

I like the modular style representation of #15. If anyone wants a real 3D .skp file to work with, I can supply it so you can output image like the one linked here, which is a basic representation of one of our homes. http://i610.photobucket.com/albums/tt190/ClearSpace/CSmodularhome.jpg

Let's try bolder color splashes. Mid century graphic design used a lot of primary colors. Check out some of the Blue Note LP album cover art from the 50s and 60s for some inspiration.

That's enough green for now. See color rules. :)

Thanks for everyone's work so far. The graphic mark does not have to be a module, or box, or hard-edged.

I want to see something like these tried out now. Let's see what "CS" can be abstracted to in this curvy interaction with the white space. You could also try out making the "modules" the white space within the color form, but give the modules slightly curved corners and have it all bleed out into the white space. These are certainly a more challenging design request, and needs a near perfect execution, but show me what you can do folks!

This logo needs to be worthy of national and international press. This company will very likely be featured in major publications around the country, as we are the first to offer a truly affordable, high-quality modern prefab in the country. We've has existed without branding for over a year and a half, and are a fully operational and incorporated business.

Please note that besides my first place selection, the top ten are under equal consideration or are works in progress with the designer that I feel have the most potential. As the contest progresses, the ranking will be more rigid and evident of my final selection candidates. Thanks!

Check out this site for all kinds of inspiration. It shows some of the classic advertisements, objects and the current take on the style. Of course, I don't want pepto-bismol pink, teal green and aqua everywhere so pay attention to the current adaptations if you are unfamiliar with the "trend."

Please review this graphic. The homes on the end are 11' tall X 16' wide and can range from 32' to 76' in length. They are not square (i.e. 16'x16') This will help represent the shapes with greater accuracy.

I want to see more colors tried out. I never really intended for blue to be the dominating theme, it just happens to work well in my current first-place selection's graphic.

Let's turn on the sizzle a little bit. As people can tell, I also like warm earth tones, and can see a muted earth tone palette as being a more accurate representation of the warm spaces that you find in mid-century modern homes. I don't want this to be "cold."

I like the layout of the type on #129 (without regards to the graphic.) It is a way of negotiating the long second title "modular homes" while keeping the design compact and clean.

Here is another way to layout the text that you all could try out:

A suggestion to all designers. If you are going to try out a "CS" representation in the logo, please do not try and combine it with the boundaries of a cube, module or square. It makes a lot of sense to do, and is very logical, but I am finding that I don't like it. There are no straight lines in the letter C or S either.

Could people try out this more blob-like, abstract sculpture style, but as more of a representation of "clarity" and "space" like #229 and #191 do, instead of as a "C" and "S"? If you think you can pull off hinting at the letters really tastefully then go for it, but it has to be just right. ;)

Woops, meant #228 instead of #229 in the above post.

Here are some various .eps files of one of our homes that may be useful to some of you for tracing/modifying/implementing. I tried out different camera angles and outputted the files. If anyone wants one adjusted, please let me know.

This has come up with a few designers, so I will note it here: I have been disregarding many designs with gradients in them and feel that I am more drawn to solid forms (that could still have transparency and overlapping) but gradients should, if used. be subtle and absolutely necessary to convey your design.

If you feel that you have a good design that I tagged "not interested" that had gradients in it, that may be the reason why.

For those of you struggling for ideas, you could try something that is in the vein of a "swank luxury lounge" nightclub. These employ a mid-century feel to the interior decorating, and usually have some pretty good graphic design that goes along with them. Maybe there is one in your hometown that you can draw inspiration from.

Just had to do a little maintenance to the files (deleting removed logos) but did not rank or sort through the new designs yet. Keep 'em coming foiks! Thanks.

Wow, there are a lot of logos to sort through! I tried to leave behind the best ones and I will be going through and giving feedback and doing a thorough ranking before the contest is over. Thank you all so much for your work on this!

#494 has everything right. There is a friendly elegance, a great palette and the graphic mark is simple, memorable, descriptive and versatile (as can be seen in it's other format #493.)

I am the owner of one of those logos that you say have been copied... If I felt that somone was coping my logo I would say somthing. Good work gerasidi... for the record, I DON NOT feel as if you are copying me an anyway. Nice work

Yeah, I mean the modular home, in that conceptual essence, is obviously best depicted as a box in some way. If I didn't understand the product and everything, I might say the same thing at first glance but we have only had one such incident in this contest, and it was obviously too derivative of someone else's design. Hard to say someone is copying someone with something so basic and subtle.

Apologies to any designers who feel their work was disregarded unfairly or did not receive worthy feedback for your efforts. My only hope in that scenario is that some of you feel proud of the work you have done and can add it to your portfolios. I cannot thank you all enough, really.

Still trying to select a top 100 or so before closing out the contest. Only the top 25 designs will be ranked in order. Everything below that is honorable mention, keeping redundant designs to a minimum.
