This is more in-line with what I am looking for compared to the current entries. Would a more horizontally configured logo work better for my purposes is what I am asking myself?
I am glad that you like it ... My association was the architectural drawing, of a modern design rooms. I used the flat and simple lines, clear design and colors associated with nature, because you use a natural material. My logo can be association as the house from a bird's-eye view. That's the reason whay a put my logo in horizontal perspektive..
By horizontal, I meant having the text be next to the logo rather than underneath it. It seems that it is easier to put into various web and print styles if the color block styled stuff is more horizontal as well. I like the rounded-edge color block of #17, but maybe with no green. I like the cream in #16, but don't think it is in line with what I am going for. We'll keep it around as a consideration for maybe adding to another design once you have come up with it. Play around with color schemes some. I think the border of the logo should remain the dark brown. Maybe play around with a splash of orange, yellow or red in there, but I do see and appreciate how it has a cool and harmonious palette with what you have done so far. Thanks a lot!
Haha, there you go! :) It makes more sense this way anyways. I was thinking along the lines of #19 before I started the contest. If you want, I can give you an eps of the actual home that matches the angle you suggested in your drawing so you can insert it. Could I have the new aqua/orange/yellow scheme on a white background? I will let you know on which design direction I like better and on how to proceed. Thanks for your work on this so far.
I like your style, actually style of your company and it is really inspirative for me to find the best solution. My favorites from here is Entry #6 (maybe smaller and on the side) , then Entry #29, Entry #66, Entry #71, Entry #80, Entry #83 (and other variations with the cube), Entry #87, Entry #88 (I like the idea with domino because of that lines, simplicity and function that they have, which is simular with "Modular House" ) then Entry #91 and the other variations....
I agree that #6 is a really great design. Even though it was for another company originally, it does hint at just about everything the company does. Organizing, clear in the middle, and two things connecting, which is what you do with the modules once they have been shipped.
I thought that was a domino, but now I get the concept behind it. That's pretty clever! :) I like your top ten and while #71 is awesome, and appeals to me on many levels, it is just too similar to some other logos that I know are out there. I am going to run all these by some friends and see what they think. We'll let you know. In the meantime, keep dreaming. You are from the land of The Bauhaus that started it all! I'd love it if a German designed our logo honestly. :) Glad you like our style.
I like the form. I instantly got what it was. I wonder what it would look like with the text from #25?
By the way, you might try some variations on the colors and layout of #6. I like the brown, so I wouldn't change that, but see what you can do. It looks great when I try it out on a brochure next to one of the renderings of the homes. Once I started doing that, the logos that work and the ones that don't became very obvious. That's why I went through and sorted through them.
Be sure and look at the updates I posted to the comments section on the main page. Thanks!
Hi. #171 ended up looking like a module in and of itself, so the eye wants to see a two 3D shapes in there. Hope that makes sense. The square just matches it better to my eye. Hmmm..
I am sorting through your new designs. I like the shapes of #2006 and #207 but they seem to heavy, like they have too much contrast or something. I think the shape and designs is good.
Could you try #210 so that the graphic is a little taller than the text, but stays level on the bottom with where it is now? Maybe about 20% taller or so? This helps create a little more balance and movement to the design. Thanks for all your work! Your a design machine. :)
Oh, and the ones with the dots in the middle just reminded me too much of a chest and nipples. lol :) #215 reminded me of a name tag, and some of the other ones just didn't work. It's all good stuff, but I have to be very selective now.
I like #256 you just did. Keep playing with the clear and space over each other like that for the text with your designs for a while. It's very modern. I think you "get it."
Also, I was looking back at your designs and thought hey, wouldn't #218 look cool with a white shape cut out in that brown space? Maybe a version of the graphic symbol from #228, but so that the main brown part is white, and the two little squares inside are shades of gray, or maybe a color splash to them. Give it a try!
Entry #259 is the combination you mentioned... Shades of gray do not match... I tried with orage and red and I like it... If you want see another combination let me know... :)
I think I like it without the border. I just uploaded some .eps files with you in mind. Maybe you can use them to trace or modify for a cool graphic. I think it would look cool to take #261 (which I like that text best on also) and replace the graphic with one of these module graphics. Maybe use the cream colors for the module, and the dark brown for the windows. There is also a line that runs near the roof that is like a trim piece. I think that could be hinted at with a gap the way you did in #91, but probably a smaller gap. Have fun! :)
Okay, so #261 is great. That's an improvement on that series of designs, I think.
I thought #256 was good, but that was until I saw #272. You should be proud of that design! That's a tough one to pull off. I love it but I might need to play with it and make sure it fits and is usable in various print formats. I may not rank it for a little while because of that.
Uh oh, you took a bunch of them down. There was one that is like #210, but orange on the sides and flat on the top and bottom. Could you put those back up please? Thanks.
Yes, I took because I tought you are not interesting for them, and also I must keep safe my ideas... But anything what you want from them I can upload it again...
So here is Entry #301 with variations .. Entry #302 , Entry #303 , Entry #304
Still wanting to talk with some people about your new designs. There will be other people involved in the selection process, so please do not take down too many designs, as some people have not reviewed any of them and they may have an opinion that is very valid about something that I may have missed. As you can see, a previously "not interested" can turn into 2nd place in an instant. ;)
okey, I will keep them here... Practically all the ideas here until now is here, and if you want to see some of the variation speacia, just say and I will upload it....:)
Just about everyone I've shown the contest to likes #6 the best. I showed it to a friend who has a degree in graphic design and here are her comments: "I kept going back to #6. It conveys clean, modular, simple, yet organic with the color choices and line curvature. Might try playing with some different type placement within the logo design?"
So, she suggests playing with the type placement. I like the original font you were using in #6 instead of the one used in various designs such as #228, #240, etc. I also like the type from #261 and #167 (and #168.) Let's keep the #6 graphic exactly as it is and do a version with those two type sections (#261 and #167) for starters. Thanks!
Could you try some variations on #206? Not just with color, but with the overall design? I think two things could be tried out. One is to very slightly increase the gap between the 3 "modules." The other is to make the whole thing a little bit shorter. I'll let you be the judge. I am also keeping in mind the costs and complications of printing more than one color, so that is already a good thing about it since it's just red and black. I think just shortening it a little bit would help for starters. Thanks for all your work on this. It's a tough decision.
Bordo, I wanted to say thank you for all your design work on this. You put in more designs by far than anyone else in the competition. I know I sort of left you hanging towards the end, but I just didn't have the time to communicate with you like we'd been doing. I want you to know also that your designs are still favorable for a certain type of direction that we could take with this. You have stayed the closest to my tastes, and have been very responsive to my requests! I can't thank you enough.
