Color Preferences
Black, White, Purple, Grey
**Added after contest started**
I do not want the logo to have a black/colored background. I want the ability to place the logo on anything without border.
***Added after contest started***
If you are going to incorporate purple, I suggest starting with the color found on the Prince album "1999" and/or "Lotusflower" Many of the designs with purple are using a color that is too "pink"

Our Ideas & Additional Information
I have zero ideas yet. My legal profession is my 2nd career. Previously I owned a DJ business. That is only slightly relevant to show that I am not the generic "stiff suit" lawyer.
Though this not required AT ALL, if there was a way to incorporate some subtle hint to Prince (the musician) into the logo that would be a tiebreaker between two equally great logos in my mind. The "deeper" the meaning, the more I would like it. For instance, (and one that CANNOT be used because it is too obvious), he has a song called "Starfish and Coffee" so if an appropriate legal logo had a starfish on one side of the scales of justice and a coffee cup on the other, I'd choose that one. Again, I give that example to show that I would be more impressed for using the song Starfish and Coffee in the design than if someone used Purple Rain or When Doves Cry.
Again, I cannot emphasize this enough, the Prince element is wholly secondary. I will first judge based on an appropriate legal logo. I am not even sure some subtle Prince reference is possible. As I said, it will be a tiebreaker. But, the reason I point it out, I am a huge Prince fan and many, many people know that.
Also, my choices of colors are the colors I'd like. They do not all need to be used, nor should you feel constrained to only those if another color works better. However, be mindful of how the logo will work in greyscale printing as many documents are faxed.
