Color Preferences
We are OPEN to color options (initially we indicated colors were red & black - need to see some other variations here). Earth tones are welcome. Interested in colors that convey Luxury, Trust, Compassion and Professional.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Looking for a stand out graphic out-of-the ordinary, perhaps a bit on the abstract side, but still relavent to what we do - care for pets. Think of a high profile hospital like John Hopkins only geared for serious pet-care and much more modern. We want something that exudes comforting but is NOT overly "sterile" or too formal. See our current logo (Heart of Texas.jpg) - it lacks the punch and impact we're looking for. Organic graphic elements that might be considered; animal paw, pet collar, heart, cat & dog abstract - but we are NOT limited to just these. We like the idea of a pictorial mark - something unusual or artsy here is OK. "Veterinary Speciality Center" text must be well pronounced. Traditional veterinary symbols and stale side animal profiles are too commonplace and should be avoided.

Discussion

Thanks for the timely post of #1 & #2. Please read our detail description as we suggested staying away from blue as a color. Our competitors and sister companies use these. We are most interested in something a bit more out-of the ordinary and not so "commercial". The Texas state, animal profiles and heart are very commonplace and a bit "too easy". We want to really push designers to strive for something less off-the-shelf and more core creative (uniqueness). Please continue to post !

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ At contest close you will need to have 3 different designers ranked in the top three positions.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

1 day 5 hours left in the Heart of Texas Logo Design competition. hats off to everyone involved to-date - great creativity and designs coming in !!!!!!!! Keep it up to the finish.

I wanted to reiterate that we are looking for "Variety" NOT duplication. Just because someone's design is rank #1 (today) doesn't mean to conveniently adopt the color scheme, background, reflections, etc..... In this case, all designs will be provided to the client for review. As a designer, I pick my Top Ten and provide a technical assessment and a professional recommendation, but in the end, it is the client who chooses, so emotion will play a big part. They are looking for something unqiue and truely different. SO BE DIFFERENT AND STAND OUT ON YOUR OWN ! Good Luck everyone !

bthomasdesign, are you now looking for a more classicly styled veterinary logo or would you still like to see abstract options?

Contest is still open for ALL types of design for this logo. Please keep in mind, this is a high-end professional medicial facility that is state-of-the-art, so we do not want anything too classical that would "date" the look of the design. Fresh, current and regal is the goal.......

re: #654. very close. Color scheme is good. Would like to see this version, but with the 2nd line of text from #601. Cat profile is good on this, dog profile still some shaping. What is prefered is the chest shape leadinhg up to the head from #601 - more of the front and neck of the dog, this just flows better. The current dog profile is too bulky and looks odd witht he mouth slightly open. The forehead also does not resemble a labrador well enough. Somehow the ear outline just looks out-of-plae. Perhaps just the front edge of the ears a thin line without actually attaching to the back of the head - more of just a abstract reference. Current head looks a bit "thick" - but it is getting closer.

The "Heart of Texas" Logo Contest is officially closed as of Sunday, November 1st. We will review all remaining designs submitted this past weekend and will make a decision by mid-week to select the winner.

[ NOTE: current rankings at the end of the contest do NOT necessarily indicate contest winner - client will determine final approval ]

Thank you so much to all the designers that contributed to our contest. The response and quality level of the designs submitted surpassed our expections. We will definitely continue to use LT as one of our design sources for continued business.

Much appreciated.
