re: #109-111. thank you for your post. A few words of encouragement. Many elements we like and would like to request a few modifications.
re#111. this is the strongest of all your submits. typefont style, layout , spacing and use of the paw in the separation line are spot on - this is very good. the concept of the cat/dog/star and heart are OK, but a bit on the generic side. weve seen simialr things before. Would like to make a few proposed changes - cat and dog profiles are bit on the soft side. Looking for something a bit more on the abstract side and something that might indicate more of a 3d nature, layers & depth. colors on this are too blah. would like to try a rich deep green for the start, Heart of Texas and separation line, then a softer lighter green for the heart graphic and 2nd line of text. As a secondary color choice a medium grey and "something" different cobinations welcome -- be creative and show us ! thanks again for the work-in-progress
This one shows more depth and layering by using a cutout look with shadows. The star is cut out of part of the heart, with the heart casting a slight shadow down onto it. The dog floats above the heart, with the cat shape cut out of it and shadows added to show that and give contrast.
re:#126. good changes. looks more 3d without looking "cartoonish". Dark green needs to be more emerald green more towards the black side. Lighter green needs have a little more yellow in it. more of a soft olive color. would like to see a version without the separation line and paw and the text moved up closer ot the co. name.
other variations to see: one with heart a little off-center (roated slightly to the left), one with the star behind the heart, one with the cat with two thin white whiskers and athe dog with a medium green tip on his nose - perhaps with a whit dot like opening.
one last concern. dog's head proportions look odd. His snoot is too long in the front -- just lloks too generic. maybe try another breed or something where the ear maybe partial standing up - just a thought --- but the overall design is looking much stronger. tks again.
re#127 not a big fan of the color gradient in the heart, and too many colors in the main graphic, starts getting visually confusing. I would be interested to see the separation line in grey with a duo color text line (like just proposed). Id also like to see the "of" and the secodn line of text have the same lighter green color.
Thank you again for the feedback. These two change the colors and the shape of the dog, as well as remove the paw print and dividing line. The second uses a different, more modern font. I'll work on the other variations of the rotated heart and others a bit later today.
re: #166-171. thank you for providing the rquested changes. trying a few options - some work, others do not. Here are some thoguths:
re: #166 - woould like to see the entire graphic element dropped slightly soe that is is closer tot eh text. would also like to see the type font for the second line of text from #167 added to this design - want to see the two different styles together.
re: #167 - nice option this is fine.
re: #168 - angled heart no good. will move to non-interested group.
re: #169 - angled heart no good. will move to non-interested group. do like the shading on the heart though
re: #171 - woudl like to see the text (both lines) from #167 with this graphic element. please pull the star back forward like in your iriginal design - this is strong than behidn the heart. last, i would like to have the first line of text spacing condensed so that the Heart and Texas are closer (tighter) to the "OF" - but leave the 2nd line of text the way it is. This will frame the graphic underneath like a base it is sitting on. worth a try and will add some visual stability to the overall design.
This is #171 with the text from #167, the star forward, the first line of text spacing condensed so that the Heart and Texas are closer and the second line kept wider so it looks like a base.
really nice compromise with the star on #215 - very nice. only change, can you please slide the heart over as it is not centered on the star and looks higher on the right than the left. other than that, this design will get re-ranked and be ready for client review.
re; #196 - can you please add the lower left leg of the start under the heart. The design currently is just not weighed properly. thank you again for your timely efforts - your a good designer.
re: #245. very nice option. the smaller longer one seems to work the best. Not sure how the contest will end, but you should be very proud of this offering - well done.
re: #433 - Good varient option for client to choose from. Personally, I feel the satr shape has better connection with Texas, and shapewsie rectangular elelement overshadow start points - that being said, it is more organic and ties in multiple elements of the business. nice work.
I just saw the comment on the main page about the client phoning in so here is my change on my #245. The heart in red, the dog in blue and the cat in white.
This comment references Entry #582
#583 has a thicker border on the star as a different look.
Here's this design with the retriever and the star tips blunted a bit.
Sorry about the withdrawls and re-submits. There was something bothering me about the new dogs snout when I came back to it, so I re-did it and submitted the new ones. Thank you, Tim
