Color Preferences
We are open to all possibilities. Would prefer a three-color logo, but will definitely consider others.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our target audience reaches across several generations. It should not be targeted exclusively to young children, but it must be appealing to them. It can't be too young lookings, but it can't be too old and sophisticated to where children wouldn't be drawn to play with it. Overall, the logo should skew toward a little older - cool, hip, fresh, clean, new rather than cutesy babyish.

I'd like to add something to the Contest Brief:

In regards to the "Styles we are interested in," please know we are also very interested in the "Character" catagory. Due to some sort of technical glitch, this did not show up in our Contest Brief. Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

My apologies about the glitch. We have isolated the issue and will have it fixed in a couple of days. Once it is fixed I will add the Character option to your brief.

Best regards,
Tyler

Here are a few more things to consider as you go.

We are excited at the prospects of these early submissions and we are confident that the end result of this contest is going to be something really amazing.

We are learning that we are drawn to images where the pig image dominates the design.

We are drawn to designs that include our tagline: "Games for Your Passions," although it's not a dealbreaker at this point.

We are open to logo submissions with a black or colored background. As some of the early submissions illustrate, there is definitely something to be said for getting an idea of how a logo would look on a t-shirt. The colored backgrounds certainly show that. But if you go that route, please also give us a version with a white (transparent) background for comparision as we will be using this logo on multiple products that will have packaging with varying background colors.

Love the name of the company, just wondering, are the games traditional (i.e. board games) or web/flash based or video games?

We are a new start-up company. Our products reach across multiple genres/platforms/applications. Our patent-pending first product, Quick Count Football, made its debut as a card game in 2007. You can learn more about us at our website, www.QuickCountFootball.com
Thank you for asking!

Nova Storm, your #98 is GREAT!

Jeff S, what's with your number one choice? Blah! That's not a logo... it's an illustration. You need something that will work on hats and pens...

Move the pig with the beanie up to number one bro. That is so clever and memorable.

As we are working through these amazing designs and wonderfully creative concepts, we are realizing that we need to mention this: In some applications, we will have to use this logo on a very small scale - ask yourself if it would look good and communicate our top 3 things: (fun, aspirational, approachable) when you have to fit it onto your index fingernail.

Thank you for all your hard work everyone!

Great comment Jeff S!

There are some really great designs on this site, but very seldom does a client pick a "logo". They seem to go for shiny, colorful, 3d, reflective, gradated, complicated illustrations.

Look at the "Styles that we are interested in" samples. These are logos. They are readable at small sizes, economic in form and color and highly memorable because of their simplicity. These logos are predictably easy and cost-effective to reproduce across all media, and all sizes. They can be cut in metal to be place on the sides of buildings, embroidered on hats, and stamped onto pens.

The current choice, as cute and shiny and illustrative as it is... is just not a logo. Its components could be used peripherally as complimentary brand and identity items.

Unfortunately a lot of clients have to find out the pitfalls of their choices later rather than sooner because no one takes the time to educate them.

The closest choice I see here is #14 (and similar submissions) by kernball. The name says "Flying Pig" so you don't need to illustrate a flying pig. kernball has submitted a _concept_ not just an obvious image. It's clever, it's easy to remember... it's just brilliant. Great work.

This is a fun contest Jeff S! Congrats on your business!

Incidentally, kernball's submission is also an "Emblem", the style the client is interested in, so it is a thoughtful submission too. Super work kernball.

Every time I've looked at putting eyes on this design, # 2 & # 3 it loses it. The nose is the front and center as is flying at you. Although it takes some people a second to get it, I don't think it's a bad thing. It's simple, can enlarge and reduce well. Would stitch or silk screen beautifully. I really don't know where else to take it. I'm thinking.....

I've reworked the type but see I can no longer post entries for you to review.
Any suggestions on how I can get them to you to look at?

Great job Jeff S! I hope you can work with novastorm as well as kernball on your identity. It'd be so great to see a T shirt with kernball's excellent logo on the front pocket and novastorm's awesome flying pig (with no type) on the back!

Great stuff. I wish I could have participated, but everyone was too quick with the great ideas.
