Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Just an overall comment on the theme so far for future design options..

It's a natural inclination for people to connect our organization to literal bridges, but the kind of bridging we work on is human to human connections which is what we are hoping to represent in our logo. We don't really know how to represent this ourselves, and this is why we used the logo tournament because we're excited to see some creative ideas for what it can look like!

As far as colour schemes: we are definitely open to blue/turquoise as it signals wisdom and tends to connect people to unity, peace, connection etc, but we don't want to get too watery or yacht-clubish.

Thanks!

The thing I realized in my comments so far is indicating human to human connections is important, however the one's I'm attracted to most so far are those that indicate or signal some kind of growth or change as we're focused on human capacity building.

So one more day left!

Here are my overall comments on the designs so far as to why I've selected the top one's:

#40: Communicates human to human connection and leverages the "bridge" title in how it's displayed but it's not literal. Simple but effective colour pattern. Symbolizes growth as the waves are going up and getting larger as they move left to right. Crisp and clean wording.

#20: Great indication of human to human bridging. Uses human colours to connect to humanity as bridge. A pop of colour for word communication in a clean way. Something that fits with our current image, but a fresher design: www.canadabridges.com and www.unveilingyouthpotential.com

#44: used the fibonacci series in the design (which is an indication of life patterning) shows a human growth element. Simple colour scheme and clean look. Potentially missing the human to human connection, and bridging across culture, ages, and worldviews.

#23: Leverages human skin tones for the design, shows bridges of people. Colourful but not a rainbow. I think I would prefer a crisper font, but like the overall look.

#54: Simple design. A little too rainbow colour, but great and fun way to represent human bridging and

Basically I'm looking for a sophisticated, clean look to represent human to human connections that enable growth across cultures, and worldviews. I prefer less bright, rainbow colours and more a natural palette, or one colour.

Thanks!

One thing we're also looking for is a stand along image that communicates the organization without words that enables some flexibility in use of the logo on documents, websites and communication materials.

Things like #15, #21, and #23 and even #54 have a unique image apart from words. #62 was also a good attempt at this, however looks more like a flower which doesn't work for us.

Also - we are really hoping for more neutral palettes (human ski colours, and earth tones) than rainbow colours. The blue is nice as well, but not mandatory and we don't want it to look like water which is an automatic association when you think of a bridge.

Finally - we don't want it to look too young, and elementary. And thus are hoping for sophisticated design with a mature feel. This effects font, and overall image feel.

Thanks!

Basically - while there are great options currently in our contest that we'd be happy to use, and great designers who are willing to iterate as a group we don't feel that we've found 'the' logo just yet, so please keep on giving options!

It doesn't have to be crazy complex, just neutral colours, sophisticated feel, with a flexible logo image that we can use in various formats ie) with and without wording!

Thanks.

If it's helpful, another description of what we do:

- Support individual community leaders in reaching their potential.
- Tapping into the potential in all people.
- Open and adaptable approach.
- Integrity is important.
- Not an us and them - just a global we.
- We connect people together to support each other.

We appreciate the great creativity that is being shown here.

Lindsay has written some great comments. As she has mentioned we are a grassroots organization. One of the things we talk about is Gentle Action ... so the "soaring" stylized figures don't match as well with our slower, step-by-step approach that gradually builds solid relationships that encourage people to build on their inner strengths and talents.

Thanks to all for participating.

I've left comments with a few designers regarding a couple of tweaks here and there. I just need to discuss with my team over the next day to make the final decision. If you have a couple updates based on comments I made please feel free to send them.

Hello all.

I first want to thank all the designers who participated in this contest so far. It stimulated our minds and gave us ideas about what we were looking for and how to communicate our organization. Because this is a re-branding we're battling past opinions with new visions. Right before the contest closed we felt there was more opportunity for creative idea's to be put forward that were more in line with some of the designs that started to emerge just at the close of the contest.

I recognize the hard work that was already put in, and as such have increased the contest prize amount for the final design. I hope you'll consider submitting additional designs. Our top 10 right now may indeed end up being the final winner, but some may need some freshening or subtle changes and felt we needed to give time to do so.

What we are looking for:

1) Human to human bridging (not literal bridges)
2) Unveiling or transformation of a person as a result of the bridging work we do.
3) Colour scheme is fllexible. Virbant neutral colours are preferred. No green. Blues are okay as long as not too watery.
4) A sophisticated feel - nothing too young, but not outdated. Fresh, clean look is desirable.
5) Using the wording "Unveiling Human Potential" in a ledgible way is desirable but not mandatory.
6) Something that has a stand alone image without the words, or can be if needed.

Basically we want to inspire people to care about others, and feel connected...that's the feeling we'd like to evoke by looking at the logo.

Please do ask if you have any questions.

I'm wondering two things for design concepts:

1) Can you make the letters of "BRIDGES" into some kind of subtle bridge and then use an image to show human transformation, or unveiling potential?

or:

2) When we talk about bridging - we're are bridging "gaps" of culture, understandings, education, access, age, race etc. Basically want to show the power of human dignity and that we are trying to create these bridges to allow human dignity and potential to emerge.

Hope this helps..
