Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

1st place - 50 points
2nd place - 20 points
3rd place - 10 points
4-6th place - 5 points
7-10 place - 3 points
10th on - 1 point

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

Update October 17th.

Likes and dislikes for each logo in the main section (# entry):
#146 Like: Harmony and dimensions. Dark blue color, sticker idea, shadow of globe and bag.
Don´t like: Shadow of "Vive". Travel bag looks still a bit too much like student (a sporty brown leather bag would be better. See attachment in the briefing)
#128 Like: Elements, letter fond
Don´t like: Too cartoon- like, Dimensions, light blue color, "Panamá" is not easy to read.
#97 Like: Letter fond in "Vive", shadow of globe, simple and clean
Don´t like: Symbol not very creative, doesn´t look professional enough, too feminine
#138 Like: Colours (white signpost and dark blue letters)
Don´t like: Dimensions, letter fond
#131 Like: Shape of the bag, dimension/ allocation of elements
Don´t like: Colours (yellow), too bubble gum like, the accent on the "a"
#44 Like: Simplicity, colours and the letter fond in "vive"
Don´t Like: Letter fond in "Panamá", too cartoonish
#43 Like: Creative idea of someone splashing water. Simplicity
Don´t Like: The "V" in "Vive" is not very well readable, the word could also be "Live". Letter fond too boring
#86 Like: Footprint, Colours (although I would probably exchange the green for red in order to have one more joyful colour along with the more serious dark blue).
Don´t Like: Too crowded, the "I" is a traffic sign?, exlamation mark and letter all at the same time, trolley might look a bit to much like business
#92 Like: Looks fun, the suitcase is obviously not the suitcase that people would go to Panamá with, but that makes it funny.
Don´t Like: Too cartoonish, Andy Warhool, 50ties style
#95 Like: Simplicity, clean, easy
Don´t Like: Letter fond of "Vive", colours probably too femine, footprint on the sun?
#90 Like: Simple and sophisticated at the same time (footprint), colours
Don´t Like: Backpacker
#36 Like: Intent to use a more creative symbol (binoculars) in a more creative way, looks classy, colours (although I would probably exchange the green for red in order to have one more joyful colour along with the more serious dark blue).
Don´t Like: Binoculars not easy to identify as such, a telescope would be a better symbol (more discovery rather then fox hunting)

Style: Strong preference for the logo to carry a symbol.
Design: Intuition that the name should be to the right of such a symbol (horizontal extension rather than vertical extension).

Design: the logo should be vivid, joyful and dynamic ... and at the same time classy and professional looking.

Logo ideas: need a symbol representing a concept, a mindset or a type of experience: freedom, adventure, discovery, refreshment, nature, goose bump experiences, heart shaking moments, cultural exchange, etc. ?

Please DON´T use symbols representing a particular scenary, such as beach, palm trees or anything that would too much narrow down the customer target group, such as backpackers, surfers, etc. Please also DON´T use symbols that only go for Panamá (the logo will be used at a later stage for other destinations as well)

Style: Two possibilities ... logos with more creative symbols (examples trailmarker/ signpost, travel bag, telescope, hands, etc.) need to be more subtle and refined, so people know immediately what they are. Logos with more ordinary symbols (sun, globe, etc.) need to be more then what we all know from the Corell Draw galary. If you want to use any of these more ordinary symbols, you have to put some creativity to it, e.g. insinuations, artistic design, ...

Other symbols that could be nice: birds, footprints ... or even a smile?

As "Vive Panamá" is a recitement/ imperative, it could be used with or without an exlamation mark.

Another idea, maybe not easy to accomplish, but if you do, it´s a clear candidate for the championship...

We could picture the hands splashing water and add the word "Panamá" to the splash (and build the word "Vive" somehow around it). The message would be "refreshment" or "you have to get wet, if you want the real experience". Someone might even see in the logo the hands of a local person generously offering his home country for the traveller to experience.

For those who have asked me what kind of trailmarker/ signpost and what kind of travel back, please find two links for examples. They are just examples, up to you too make it fun, dynamic, classy and cool- looking. For the trailmarker/ signpost, I would say three or four arrows pointing at the person looking at the logo is enough.

Dear Designers,

first of all, thanks to all of you who have contributed to this contest. We very much appreciate your hard work and we think that there are some very interesting concepts. Altough you are now getting much closer (there was too much time lost with beaches, palm trees and globes in the beginning of the contest), we have not yet seen a logo that on the first glimpse convinces us on both, design AND (pictorial) elements used. Therefore, we have decided to extend the contest (and would be happy to end it as early as possible) and to put only those logos in the main section that have something in them that could be helpful in order to find THE logo. We will take a day or two to discuss internally, then categorize the remaining new/ unranked logos and then write an open comment on what we like and what we don't like on each of the logos that remain in the main section. We hope that this is fair and that we can awake the competitive spirit in many of you to go for the trophies. THANK YOU AGAIN!

Dear designer,

not sure if anybody is still going to read this, but we would like to thank you for your great work. As the rules are today, there can be only one winner, but we would support the idea that at least the second and third runner up also get a share of the pie in the future. They would definately deserve it. Thanks everybody for your spirit and professionalism and above all, thanks Dezyner for giving us a great logo !
