Preserving and Restoring the Legacy of View Park, Los Angeles.
What We Do
The View Park Conservancy is a community organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the rich history of View Park, Los Angeles. View Park is currently one of the wealthiest cultural enclaves in the United States and it was developed in the 1920s on a large hill overlooking the Los Angeles basin. The neighborhood boasts a superb collection of homes in the Spanish Colonial and Mediterranean styles, most of which remain today. View Park also served as home to the original Olympic Village during the 1932 Los Angeles Summer Olympics. Notable View Park residents include Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Nancy Wilson, Tina Turner, the Northrop Family and the See's Candy Family. Many residents of View Park have lived in the area their entire lives. However, the neighborhood is seeing a surge in popularity and an influx of younger families who wish to develop a strong branded identity while preserving View Park's rich cultural and historical values.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
View Park is known for it's beautiful palm trees and picturesque views of Los Angeles. Vector drawings of a Spanish or Mediterranean home might be an interesting take. The neighborhood is very diverse (all ages and races).

The logo should have both vintage and modern qualities; something that captures the community (old and young), through the acts of unity and sharing of history. An outline of View Park on a map is also interesting. https://maps.google.com/maps?client=safari&oe=UTF-8&q=view+park+los+angeles&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x80c2b779f64fd8a9:0x25345583bbc74a58,View+Park-Windsor+Hills,+CA&gl=us&ei=XDuxUuzCMJLBoATH-ICoBw&ved=0CJwBELYD -

New examples are attached. If you're having trouble, try narrowing your font choices to serif fonts. Also focus on your typography. The words should flow well together (see National History Museum example images-3.jpg). The Brooklyn Historical Society example is also a good one. If the design is strong, the logo can serve a dual purpose: 1) as the logo of the conservancy and 2) as a logo to brand the neighborhood.
