Slogan
None to show on the logo, but here are words that would be reflected in our slogan Agile, Coaching, Training, Continuous Improvements, Efficiency.
What We Do
Training, coaching and consulting services specializing in Agile (scrum, kanban, xp) and cloud computing (google apps, salesforce.com). A key concept behind everything we do is Kaizen, which is Japanese for "improvement", or "change for the better" and refers to philosophy or practices that focus upon continuous improvement
Industry
Service Industries
Color Preferences
The logo will be on a white background (web or print) and the primary colors should be red and blue with purple as secondary. So white, black, red, blue and purple. If you are inspired to use only purple, white and black (not using blue and red but combining them as purple) we are open to that option.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Torak is an invented word, it represents the combination of the works Toro (Taurus, Ox, Bull) and Cossack (Cossacks in Russia are generally thought of in a romantic fashion as people who lead a free and careless life, while being ferocious fighters. Cossacks refused to submit to any official government). We don't want people to look at the logo and think it's a Russian company that sells bulls by having an image of a bull with a Russian hat, it's training/coaching/consulting service organization, the roots of Torak must be present but subtle. I share the origins of the name Torak to provide inspiration (Toro + Cossack = Torak) and artistic direction (something as strong/confident /courageous as a bull and a Cossack).

For now we like #26 because it's Abstract. From an artistic point of view, #3 and #22 are pretty but focused too much on the bull only. Thank you #23 for combining both Toro + Cossack but it needs to be more abstract.

Remember that our favorite styles are Abstract Mark and Wordmark.

Abstract Mark = a symbol that combines Toro + Cossack
Wordmark = using the letters in Torak to represent Toro + Cossack

If you are going to use blue in the logo, we love the blue in #42. We also like that although there doesn't seem to be any Cossack influence, there is "agility / movement" in this logo. It also does a good job at capturing "strong / confident / courageous". If you are going to use a bull (although we would prefer more abstract), what we liked about this one is that it looked very different than the bulls used in logos/images for other companies. We want our logo to stand out, and that's why we think that abstract would work better, but #42 is a solid entry in this contest.

Because of it's overall elegance we still also like #22. Simple and clean.

We ranked #45 high because it's very different and original. Nice touch on the K. This logo is not as serious as we would like it, but that's also what caught our attention, it's fun! Also we are not too sure about that red/purple color. We prefer either blue, red or true purple, but not in between.

We think that we prefer the logo on the LEFT of the name Torak, mostly for Web placement on the top left of our website, but we are not closing the door yet on having the logo on the top.

Keep it coming. Good ideas so far but don't hesitate to go bold and creative, that's what we want ... to stand out!

Based on what we have seen so far... here are a couple of observations to help you in submitting future designs.

1. NO gradients especially using grey/silver like on #13 and #5

2. NO mirror effects like on #58 and #47. We will not pick a winner who uses a mirror effect

3. if you use BLACK, then use black (not dark grey)

4. if you use BLUE, then we really like the blue in #42

5. if you use RED, we like deep red like #56

6. we like the creative ideas around the letters, but make sure that we can still read Torak. The 2 horns used for the O on #95 are cool. We also really like the O on #106, it's so simple and clean. The R on #22 is genius. The K on #45 is fun.

7. all submissions must be on a WHITE BACKGROUND, you can submit variations on black, red or blue, but we are almost certain that this logo will be on a white background

If you are going with the Wordmark style, we don't want every letter to be tricked out with an image but the ones we noticed in bullet 6 above caught our attention. As mentioned before our favorite styles are Abstract Mark and Wordmark.

Abstract Mark = a symbol that combines Toro + Cossack + Agile
Wordmark = using the letters in Torak to represent Toro + Cossack + Agile

It seems that designers are finding it easy to include the Toro in the logo, but please don't forget that it's not only the Toro. The WINNING logo will be the one that finds a way to offer : Toro + Cossack + Agile (all 3)

Here are additional tips to win this contest:

ABSTRACT - Toro or Cossack should be abstract. Agile is always abstract.

MOVEMENT - Showing movement in the logo offers all 3 (Toro + Cossack + Agile) but we would still like to have something truly showing each of the 3 (Toro + Cossack + Agile)

AGILE keywords are adaptive, flexible, change, flowing, controlled chaos, iterative, emperical, etc ...

TORO can be represented by horn(s), hoofs, silhouette of a toro/ox/bull, symbol of the Ox, etc ...

COSSACK can be represented by their weapons like the sabre, or shashka, and long spear. Don't just include a weapon, the weapon must be abstract.

Because we know it's a lot to include all 3 (Toro + Cossack + Agile) in 1 logo, here is an idea to consider for designers ... combining a horn and a sabre. It's just an idea, please push the boundaries and continue to bring new ideas. We have seen some great entries but we know that there are still new ideas to explore.

Thank you for reading our comments. We try to post a lot of comments to help you win.

Now that we have entered the Top 5 phase, we have picked our top 5 logos and we have requested from all 5 designers to continue submitting new entries. We hope to pick a winner within the next 3 days and would prefer to not extend this contest, so please make every new entry be your absolute best design. As soon as we receive the logo that meets our criteria listed below we will consider ending the contest early.

Here is what we are looking for to pick the winner:
1. you should have read carefully the Brief and all our comments as we have been very consistent in our feedback.
2. the winning logo will successfully incorporate all these 3 components: Toro + Cossack + Agile
3. our preference is that the logo is a a horizontal rectangle instead of a square, but if the logo works well as both horizontal rectangle and square, it will be considered a bonus
4. be original, especially at this stage because once we see what we like we will pull the trigger immediately
5. if you choose to ONLY improve your current logo, please let us know as we will do everything to help you finalize your logo. It's OK if you are done with your logo but just let us know so that we can provide you with the best feedback about your final entry.

IMPORTANT: if the Top 5 designers are not actively submitting new entries we will replace the designer with another designer who is more inspired. It was tough for us to lock down the contest to 5 designers and we know of at least 3 designers who are ready to jump back in.

Most importantly ... have fun and if you are not inspired anymore just let us know so that we can give a final ranking to your design.

Thank you in advance for all your upcoming exciting entries.
