Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - Other than vet care and products, we offer everything for and about dogs.
#2 - We are a serious company and want to create a zen like atmosphere rather than the current "doggy cutsey camp" look
#3 - We are a new concept, totally unlike any other training or day care facility.
Our Target Audience:
Anyone who owns a dog or requires a dog for special needs. We will become a destination location for people to take their dog for both social enrichment, entertainment, training and behavior solutions. As we are located near downtown Charlotte, NC which next to New York City is considered the top banking/financial city in the nation, we will probably draw a lot of our clients from many of the million dollar condos that are located in downtown Charlotte. Many will bring their dog for day school as they are working all day. Many will bring their dog for learning basic obedience or possibly for special skills. We also would like to create a center that is a gathering place for people to meet. We suspect that a large portion of our clientele will be single professionals.
We have also been approached by a major network about possibly producing a reality show around our training center. We plan to train service dogs to donate the several charities. that Additionally, this logo will be displayed on one of the most prominent 3 sided signs in the city of Charlotte, NC.
Color Preferences
Black, Red, White, Beige and possibly a splash of green, yellow or blue.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
As our name is The Dog Knowledge, we have thought that we might possibly like a version of Rodin's "The Thinker" but The Thinker would be a dog. However we do NOT want a cartoon look. Also any dog used should not have pointed ears but be a little more lab looking.

PLEASE READ: I AM EDITING THIS SITE TO ASK THAT NO ONE SUBMIT ANY MORE ENTRIES. I AM OVERWHELMED WITH EVERYONE'S TALENT, JUST AWESOME. I EXTENDED THE DEADLINE AS I HAVE OUT OF TOWN GUESTS TODAY AND WANTED OPINIONS FROM FAMILY AND FRIENDS. BELIEVE YOU ME, EVERYONE HAS A FAVORITE AND EVERYONE AGREES THAT ALL THE ENTRIES ARE WINNERS. TOMORROW I WILL SIT DOWN AND MAKE A DECISION. BUT WHATEVER THE DECISION I CAN'T TELL YOU HOW IMPRESSED WE ARE WITH EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU. PERSONALLY, I'D LOVE TO HAVE ALL OF YOUR DESIGNS. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT WON'T WORK. WE ARE ALSO GOING TO BE ASKING FOR SUBMISSIONS ON A COUPLE OF DOG PRODUCTS AND ANOTHER DOG SERVICE. I HOPE THAT YOU ALL WILL CONSIDER BEING KIND ENOUGH TO SHOW ME YOUR GENUIS IDEAS AGAIN WHATEVER WE DECIDE ON THIS PARTICULAR LOGO. AGAIN, THANKS TO EVERYONE, I'LL BE IN TOUCH TOMORROW. DEBBIE
I just re-read my creative brief. Again, let me stress that we do NOT want anything that looks like a cartoon. Also, again, let me stress that we are willing to pay more if we receive a really great design. If a designer is looking for a version of Rodin's "Thinker" they can find it on-line in many different versions. Of course the challenge will be making the "Thinker" look like a dog without looking silly. However, we are totally open to any creative designs. The logo we select will be very visible in Charlotte as the building we are hoping to lease has a huge sign that is visible from most of downtown Charlotte. Only because the building has a grandfather's clause due to the age of the building is this sign allowable. That's why we need a really eye-popping logo.
Dear Designers: I have to tell you all that I love elements of everyone's design. Additionally, I think this service is awesome and will use it and recommend it. I have chosen design #2 as my favorite at this point only because I like the graphic nature of the design. There is a website www.tyler2construction.com that features a dog in their logo. I like the graphics in their logo. Something along this line is more of what I am thinking. As for Entry #2, I would like to see a different font, possibly white with a black outline. The dog is maybe just a little too graphic but still on the right track. In other words I am looking for a symbol rather than a specific dog that really looks exactly like a dog. Or possibly a silhouette. Also, all dogs should have soft ears and NOT pointed ears. The red color I mentioned will probably be the background color so would like to see the design and lettering in white, black and beige. Again, to all of you, thank you for your wonderful entries. I will look forward to additional revisions. Does anyone need more time. I put the timing down to 5 days but maybe could extend the time period. It 's just that I am very anxious to get this logo finished as we have so many project in the works and I need my business cards and start working on signage. Debbie
Everyone please look at www.tyler2construction.com for a look that we would like to see. We think our signage will have a deep red background so would love to see the logo in white trimmed out in black with some deep khaki beige (almost chocolate but not quite) and possibly a splash of lime green.
