Color Preferences
Our website will be making use of the word press template located here: http://livedemo00.template-help.com/wordpress_35165/. We would like colors that incorporate and/or complement the blues and green, with the orange possibly used as an accent color.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We would like to avoid the use of a heart, hands / holding hands, birds, flowers or a house in our logo. We would like to see possible variations on the theme of an Oak tree - either a single oak tree; seven oak trees; a stand of trees (top down or front-facing) - and are also open to an abstract mark of some sort (does not have to represent a tree).

We would also like to see our slogan worked into the logo, although are also open to an especially strong concept which (for whatever reason) may not be able to incorporate the slogan.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ When you provide feedback to designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Please note: if you are asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" designers are the first 5 designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The designer of the 1st place design will be the only designer who can submit revisions at that time.

In general, happy with the overall direction of the entries. A few quick observations:

1. In reviewing the designs, we prefer a horizontal treatment (e.g. designs #1, #6, etc.) over a vertical treatment (#s 9 and 18)
2. We don't yet see a treatment of the slogan that really strikes us. At this point, I think we would lean toward not including the slogan in the logo, but would still like to see versions of the designs w/ and w/o the slogan...in the hopes that a treatment will strike us. The treatment that comes closest is in design #11, where only the initial character is capitalized, vs. an ALL-CAPS treatment
3. The designs we removed either had stylistic elements we didn't like (a heart in #16), felt too "clinical" or "Hospital-like" (the circle in #8) or just didn't immediately strike us
4. In looking at the color treatments, the blues should be used more as an accent color, as the blue is a cooler color, and we'd like the logo to bring in warmer autumnal colors, while still complementing the color palette of the web design template.
5. Still very much open to type treatments, but do -in general - prefer the stylized script font (more feminine) over stronger serif fonts. San Serif fonts are still fair game and will be considered.
6. When we think of an oak leaf, we think of a "pointier" leaf treatment than a "rounded" leaf treatment used in many of the designs
7. Have not yet seen a traditional "tree" treatment...might be cliche or too predictable, but would like to see a treatment of large "old-growth" silhouetted oak tree
