Must work as business identity / logo as well as a watermark for more subtle uses. The name Robert Holland is primary, Big Fish Studios is secondary or watermark / emblem only. Like clean, graphic, smart, cool.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
My name Robert Holland is primary, Big Fish Studios is secondary or subtle emblem but really more as a fun graphic element. Great to incorporate both somehow. The current artwork is on my site under CONTACT. Very important to look at my website: http://www.robertholland.com to see what I do.
My identity and business has always been my name. I added "Big Fish Studios" a few years back but do not use it everywhere. It makes my company sound bigger, is fun on shirts, etc. Make sure to go to my CONTACT page on the website and you'll see current logo. The use of "South Florida" can be dropped or used on occasion. It does not work well as watermark, is "heavy" but people remember it. Just needs updating or complete replacement - open to anything really. Simple, creative, modern, funky, minimal (note the website). My name has always been one variation of Helevetica it seems and usually used separately from BFS logo (the logo often a "stamp" or mark somewhere if at all). Would be great to simplify and use together. Uses will be for website, portfolio, emailer marketing, client premiums like shirts, studio signage, etc. I need the typical 26 year old art director that hires me to say "cool".

Could work if I had no studio name. The trick is to make my name, studio name work together (maybe "photographer" too). If that does not work, the artwork / logo for Big Fish Studios needs to be modernized, updated or completely changed. It is visible on my website www.robertholland.com (logo at this point only appears under CONTACT tab.

Pappa Daz #3 has interesting type and new approach to my old graphic (http://www.robertholland.com/blog/?page_id=3 )
The ying yang feel is interesting but contents of circle too busy. #4 aperture rings especially don't work for me.

I encourage designers to see my website www.robertholland.com A quick view of my logo icon or graphic is available on my website Contact page or here: http://www.robertholland.com/blog/?page_id=3

Also, I use Photographer not Photography though some of the approaches won't need a title anyway.

Palette, I like the clean, minimalist feel of your #14, 16, etc. but hard to work in my name and studio. I don't want to incorporate water into anything.

Thanks to everyone so far. Hi, Babo #33 is starting to represent that clean look I like but need to incorporate Big Fish Studios and maybe more of a fish along the lines of what i had? Toothpick #29 is moving in a nice direction. To everyone - please no "stock" fish shapes. My "fish" is meant to be iconic, playful, tongue-in-cheek menacing, but above all cool. If you've not seen what I currently use please look. Maybe it is facing the viewer? Numbers 23, 25, 26, 27, 32, 36, 39 all could go somewhere. It's early - keep thinking and again thanks.

To everyone - thanks for all the great ideas. To make this simple for any new entrants or revisions I think I can best explain the fish logo that I'm looking for as a "happy shark". Not menacing. Playful, funky. Easy to screen. Simple in shape. Forced perspective or out of proportion ok. Thanks!

Contest extended - sorry to do this but my schedule last two days combined with a rush of last minute entries made this necessary. There are several of these that could work - but all need refinement - and I want to be able to provide that. Feel free to contact me.

Ok, getting close on both time and designs. If we've been communicating the last few days and your design is highly ranked then I want to dial it in re type style, color, exact placement, etc. Please make sure you check messages or contact me for direction.

Really near the end now. You can see what I like if you have any new and late entries get them up - glad to look. There is no winner yet.
