Thanks Zrox. IF (and not required) there is any graphic / illustration / shape it needs to be a cool, dramatic type fish rather than my initials. I changed my avatar to my current graphic for reference. Also minimal is in for me. See my website www.robertholland.com. If a great logo treatment includes only my name and studio name that may work - then i'd only use my fish / shark shape on t-shirts for fun. I know i've proposed a tougher assignment here . . . .
Thanks - nice work. Since time is slim i'll just toss out the direction i've given past few days: - studio name and illustration need to go together. try to tie in type and fish - no drop shadow Also, re type: I would say refine the type, needs to draw equal attention between the logo and your name, or my name should be more primary, they should blend together almost with big fish studios somehow fitting in to the mix seamlessly. Kerning/leading needs improving. If you want to consider diff type style, then I would say it needs to have a bit more character to it then straight forward arial/helvetica. Very subtle elements can most likely achieve this, by still keeping the type fairly similar to what it is now. Ok so I guess subtleties are key, clean and effortless integration of all the elements...
And specific to your recent design, 1) it is original and good but maybe more playful or less menacing? Please don't delete this logo though - want to look longer. 2) i was going to say "use all upper for my name but now that i look at your design, i don't want to limit you
