Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - High quality,"specialty coffee"/our expertise in the industry
#2 - A break out of your daily life/routine
#3 - Passion for coffee and people
Our Target Audience:
For those of you who participated in the FlavorPhil logo, I am one of the partners and am creating this brand to be a higher quality product line. As in FlavorPhil, I want to appeal to both sexes, but leaning towards women because of their dominant role in coffee purchases for the household. Our target audience are everyday coffee drinkers falling between the ages 22-35. They brew their own coffee at home, are brand oriented, quality discerning and appreciate the nuisances of high quality coffee.
The way I see our coffee is that it isn't just a cup that you wake up to, but one that you brew to enjoy alone or with family or friend. Each cup sparks an appreciation for the moment and the person shared with.
It is all about passion for coffee and my passion for people. That is why from every bag sold, a portion of proceeds are donated to different charities, ranging from those in producing countries and abroad. Because we want people to feel attached/have a personal interest/connection to the brand, thus, creating loyalty, and a willingness to pay a premium.
We have a strong social commitment. We want to create awareness of the conditions in producing counties, and thus positively contribute to our environment, the living conditions of coffee producing countries which support is. This is what we like to think of as our "unifying cup".
We want to develop educated, enthusiastic customers who appreciate our mission, our attentiveness to quality
Color Preferences
My color palette includes champaign, white, black, dark chocolate brown, burgundy red, etc. We are looking for sophistication, but without seeming snooty or pretentious. We will guide color choices with feedback.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
I want simplicity with elegance. We want to create a logo that with a brand presence that will work across multiple mediums (coffee, tea, shirts, mugs, etc). I want the logo to speak worldly, slightly artistic/underground, inviting, etc.
I haven't decided the bag yet, but the logo will most likely be used on a metallic silver bag. Please contact me with any questions you have and i will be happy to guide you.
*in reference to the champagne color, i like the use of it on the stem of the wine bottle. I also admire the clean/boldness of the brand name. See the attached link.
Phoenix for their ability to create life from themselves. In the same way they rise from their ashes, the coffee transforms from cherry to roasted coffee by the hands of the roaster. they symbolize revival. In their transformation, they are greater than they were prior.
Lastly, we always see coffee in its roasted form, but never in any of its earlier stages. The image of the coffee cherry show the beginning of coffee and the quality begins. Maybe showing coffee cherry branch with ripened and unripped cherries and then the roasted form. see the link below.
I know it is a lot to take in, but thank you in advance for your efforts and for helping me bring my vision to life. See link
*** with regard to the lion logo. please checkout www.gorillacoffee.com i like how they presented this logo and would like to try something cool with the lion and phoenix.

Diamond Contest
We're sorry, but this contest is presently open to a limited pool of designers.
hey everyone, just wanted to pop in and leave some comments.
the main purpose of this logo is to be used on my coffee bags. please check out the links i posted in my brief. they should give you some good insight as to what i'm looking for.
the phoenix is cool because it symbolizes revival and when it transforms, it is greater than it was initially. maybe it could incorporate coffee in some way? maybe the phoenix being part of the cup or something...
i'd also like to see lion and perhaps some cool way of writing raus coffee....
if you have questions feel free to drop me a line. i will be actively monitoring the logos to guide you. thanks again for all of your efforts!
please read in the brief the style and concept as it explains the direction i want to go. it is kind of difficult see the links, so i pasted them out individually below. please check them out.
MODS do not delete this post. I was going to continue with this contest, but have decided not to, since it's very obvious that there is no possibility of any future work.
DESIGNERS WORKING ON PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS, PLEASE MAKE LAME ANNOUNCEMENTS TO OTHER DESIGNERS LETTING THEM KNOW THAT YOU ALREADY HAVE THE BUSINESS AND THAT THEY SHOULD DO YOUR PRODUCTION/PREPRESS WORK FOR YOU.
veo/sean thanks for the info. definitely is a match.
saw the comments going back and forth and wanted to clear up that design drive is building the website, not the logo. his concern over the logo is directly related to the ease in which he can put the sight together and the various mediums in which the logo will be used.
i posted on this site because of the high creativity level of the designers and thus, don't want to hinder that. if anyone has any issues or comments, please take them up with me.
thank you all again for your efforts in designing my logo.
donny ......just to clarify, can you supply the feedback as feedback coming from designer is confusing(design drive, is a designer here) it will be easier if all direct feedback/comments come from you...thanks:)
Please supply any brief-related information to CH to add here - because any designers just joining the contest are going to be looking for CH's comments/updates, and might skim over your entries, missing vital info. Thanks.
hey everyone, for those interested in trying a new idea, a designer submission brought up ideas of an old logo i tried doing. it was of an angel holding a cup of coffee in hand, almost like presenting it to the person buying the coffee, with wings stretched out, but in an emblem. for those daring enough, here are a few links to inspire. i couldn't find anything that was exactly what i wanted, but an angel, holding the coffee cup with saucer in hand at breast level or so, with the wings in view. hope some of you will take a look! dr
WOW, is Raus coffee affiliated with Starbucks or something? Entries are starting to look a lot like Starbucks. If Starbucks ever puts there product on the shelf in a Grocery store and you do to, a customer might buy the wrong one by accident.
This is a premium coffe, not a knock-off, right? The reason I ask is because I know that no-name brands and not known name brands use other existing logos to fool the customer into buying their products instead of what they were really going after, but their product is usually half the price also.
i like the idea and am getting feedback from a bunch of sources (friends and family). the contest is still up in the air and i still have to re do the rankings.
i like the angel a lot, but feel it might have to be a little simpler... maybe. still surprised that nobody took the lion further. i do like the one with the lions foot on the cup. it looks a little cartoonish, but there is something that draws me to it.
i will try to return tonight to do the rankings. thank you all for your effort. we're almost there!
HEY EVERYONE, AFTER A SMALL VOTE BY CLOSE FAMILY AND FRIENDS, THE WINNING LOGO HAS BEEN SELECTED. I JUST WANTED TO PERSONALLY THANK ALL OF YOUR FOR YOUR SUBMISSIONS AND FOR EFFORT IN CREATING MY LOGO.
