Our Ideas & Additional Information
I previously used LogoTournament to create a logo for 'Nexul'. Nexul was a social network with privacy (hence the lock and layers look).

The attached logo was a preliminary design taking the Nexul logo and adding the word academy to the end. I've decided not to go this path, since the lock icon doesn't fit with an academic use. But it does show the iconographic style I am going for.

Nexul Academy does not have any relationship to Nexul, except for a common owner. Nexul Academy should appear academic and collaborative. Our teaching style is team project based as you can find on our website.

I like a logo that is recognizable small and can have more detail when large. The logo will be used on the website as small as a favicon, and then as large as a sign on the school building students will attend in person. It will also be used in printed materials and slidedecks.

The website uses the Roboto font, but any text portion of Nexul Academy should not be that same font.

I would like an svg and png versions of the logo once prize is awarded.

Think about a partnership between mentors and the students, team based learning, or project based learning... All are aspects of Nexul academy.

This is also a company teaching software development, no books, all laptops, smartphones. All course material is digital, instruction is in groups with the mentor and your team of students.

Focus less on styling a letter in the name and more representation of those concepts. Bonus if a letter is included in that representation, but a winner doesn't need a letter stating included, the concept is more important.

There are lots of great designs in the running right now with great logo shapes.

Some great fonts are being used, we like the sans-serif types fonts, but not plain straight edges all around the fonts. Fonts should have a little character, just not serifs.

Our team would like to see top designs leverage a consistent color story.

1) Green at the bottom to signify growth.

2) Blue sprouting from the green to signify trust.

3) Purple at the top to signify mastery / wisdom.

Not everyone has the same blue, green, and purple and that's fine (those that have all 3), keep with the shades you are using that are working well together.

Thanks everyone for all these really good designs.

Everyone has done an excellent job. Choosing is hard. I'm enlisting the help of people I know to make the final selection. The top four designs will be in one final survey to be sent out in a few hours.

We've done a round of color analysis through surveys and each design in the top now is using the optimal color choice of survey respondents for the icon portion.

Fonts are a big question right now. Previously I requested no serifs, but survey feedback has shown an interest in some serif marks. If you would like one more revision of the text portion of your logos considered for the final survey, please submit them soon.

If you are in the top 4 now, ensure you have two versions of your design submitted with your concept and your current top 4 place colors. One with the text to the right of the icon and another with text below the icon. You have one or the other in the top 4 already. I will ultimately use the winner icon in both arrangements, and on the survey I want to present them all in the same arrangement.

Thanks to all.
