Color Preferences
I really like the blue that Dell and IBM use. Along with that, I tend to like to keep it simple with some grey and black but I am open to other colors so long as they do not detract.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The attached logo is our present logo. I worked with someone to have it designed years ago and liked it then but we are seeing issues with it now. The graphic portion of the logo is problematic because people aren't sure what it is. I intended it to look like a computer network but many people think it looks like a molecule and are confused as to what it is. Also, when looking at the logo, many people think that we are "INR Networks" instead of "JNR Networks". The circles around the "network" logo are cool but detract from the concept.

While we are primarily a Full-service IT Consulting firm, we want to make sure that our logo and image exhibits that we are about more than just IT. In the end, we are people who are helping people to build networks of people that are interconnected. IT is, often, a key component in this design but we tend to look for optimal solutions and let IT fit into that solution as it makes sense instead of looking at every solution from the perspective of how the solution fits into an IT infrastructure.

Inline with being people that are helping people, much of what we are about is emotive. While we want a semi-masculine logo (Much of our client base is made up of male decision makers), we also want it to be emotive, intimate and personal because we are a relationsihp-based business and we want our logo to emote that concept.

In addition to this, we are strongly founded on our core values as they are not just something we say we value, every person we hire is hired because they embody these values. You can read more about these values by going to our website at http://www.jnrnet.com/about-us/core-values.html.

As a note on our present website...we are working on redesigning it so the colors, etc. will be completely redesigned along with much of the content.

Seeing where some people are taking the logos, I thought I'd post a general comment. I like the concept of conveying the "Network" portion of what we are doing but we need to be careful with that from a few angles. The first is that it needs to be very clear what we are conveying. (ie. our original logo also looked like a molecule.) The second is that all of our networks have a human element that we have to convey somehow. That may not be something that can effectively be communicated in a logo but we are hoping to find the perfect blend of conveying the human and the network/technical aspect of what we do...that is what we need in a log.

All this said, we also see the potential that a "logo" without any graphics may be the better way to go and we can convey the personal concept and the human networks concept in text but, optimally, I'd like to see a way to convey all of that in a graphic.

Thank you for all of your submissions. One thing that I've seen is the idea of integrating the N into the vertical lines of the J and the R. The problem is that it begins to look like J\R and we already have confusion as to whether we are JNR, J and R or just JR. I think that this design, while it looks cool, could easily further this confusion. I am open to design ideas that integrate the vertical lines but, so far, it seems that the JNR isn't clear enough when that is done.

Hi All,

In terms of the graphic, one option may to make some kind of a graphic that just shows the "JNR" in some kind of stylized script. It wouldn't convey the concepts I want but it would provide a graphic to iconize our company name and that might provide what we really need.

I'd love to see ideas on this.

Hi all, Phase 1 was just extended for a final push for some more ideas. Looking at the rankings, you can see what is out there now and it is great but I'd love to see more ideas, especially on the graphical side. There are a lot of great ideas on the concept of "people helping people". If you have a great idea on a graphic for that concept, I would love to see it.

Another idea might be to build a graphic around the other concept of "Building Human Networks". I"m not sure how to convey that graphically but I would be interested if anyone has ideas on that.
