Hi, here you have my idea. #17, #18, #19 and #20 showing the concept of people that are interconnected.
Interconnecting the letters "JNR". I hope you like it!

Best regards, Fernando.

Here you have another options. #25 and #26 showing interconnected + network connection too.
Highlighting the word "helping" changing the color to show something more emotive, intimate and personal.

Let me know if you have a request. I will do it for you.

Thank you.

#20 resonates here. I get what you are trying to do with the lines between the JNR but it feels like it detracts and makes it hard to read. If those lines were removed and the "People helping People" was a little darker (for readability), I think this is pretty close. The line to the right of JNR and below Networks could make this look like a math equation where JNR both builds networks and is people helping people...I think that could be an interesting concept that we could go with. The only other thing I might like to see here would be some subtle gradient work on to give the text a little more texture and eye candy-type appeal.

Hi rileyjd,

thank you for your feedback! here you have your request #31, let me know if you need some changes.
I am working on more versions.

Another option #34.
Here you can see the direction of the Company, people helping people!

#36 simple and unique too.

I think I like the font of #31 more than the font on #36 because the #36 font is too blocky. Also, I like the gradient on #31 better as its more subtle.

#34, This might work if the NR wasn't in the way of the arrow and the "People Helping People" was to the right of the arrow.

Hi, here you have more options with your request. #42 and #43.

Best regards, Fernando.

#43: This is my favorite so far but I'm not certain that the arrow adds instead of detracts. Can you show me an option of this logo without the arrow and wihout the open R so that the vertical line on the left-hand side of the R is solid instead of broken?

#20: I like this in its simpleness but I don't think that the lines between the J, N and R work well. Can you show an option of this without those lines?

Other ideas on fonts that convey a simple, bold and elegant look would be appreciated. I want to be sure to stay away from logos that look more cartoonish. Think IBM or Dell but slightly more modern.

Hi, thank you for your feedback!
Here you have some options #57, #58, #59 and #60. Different fonts with the "R" complete.

I will upload more tomorrow for your request for #20, here in my home i don't have that font. I have that font in my office. I will make the update for you soon. Tomorrow morning.

Best regards, Fernando.

#59: thank you, of the textual non-logo'd designs, I think this is likely to be close to the best fit. I am still looking at other options including logos to see if we can find a way to convey our concept with a logo instead of just text. That said, I like this design in the sense that it could almost be seen as a mathematical equation of balancing networks and People Helping People which is what we do.

If you have any further ideas of how to convey this, either in text or graphically, I would love to see your design ideas. At the core, you can see, on the main page, our vision and mission...these are critical as we need to convey that we are building Human Networks and we are doing this by having people (our staff) helping people (our clients). In its very nature, what we do is relatively intimate. I am not sure we can properly convey that intimacy in a logo but we are hoping to be able to.

Thank you. Fernando

#83: Currently ranked #1. I'm not sure whether I prefer the bolder style of #59 or the lighter style of #83. Definitely looking forward to some symbol ideas.

#103: Thank you but that doesn't fit with the image we are trying to convey.

There is another designer that has come up with a logo concept that I like but I like your creativity and textual layout concepts. If possible, we might be able to see if you would split the reward if you can't come up with a logo that competes.

I just saw that you withdrew your entries but I was very interested in them. Are you pulling out of this tournament?

Logo Designer
So sorry but i am tired of working hard for nothing, rank first and then go to 10th rank.
I was the first in introduce all the concepts that you want to show "interconnected", etc, etc. and i recieved this morning a Private Message from another designer that i am too close to the idea of his entry #64. He ask me to remove.
I say no is different, but i am really tired of this situation everyday. He ask me to remove.

But is ok, you already rank another one in 1st, so you choose. I hope you can find a great Logo.
Sure you will. Good Luck!

Best regards, Fernando.

See you, in another tournament maybe...
Bye, have a nice day.

It is unfortunate as I think you're reading too much into what I was trying to do with the ranking. We're trying to figure out if we want a graphic with our logo or just text in our logo. From the textual standpoint, I liked your layout a lot. From my standpoint, you were the first that came up with some of the concepts of the way you laid out the text and separated it with the lines, etc. I can't say you are going to win but, if we go with a text-based logo, you are one of two designers that we like in that category...I really wish you would would reconsider.

If you believe that I was stealing your concepts and promoting them to other designers, please let me know as I never had that intent. In fact, I am trying to be very cautious to respect each person's unique design.

On the idea of #64, I don't get how he overlaps with you as he came up with a graphical design but I don't remember seeing anything from you with a similar graphical design like that. That said, while I like it, I'm not sure its the best and I'm not even sure I could accept his graphic because it is very similar to Joomla's graphic and it may be a copyright infringement.

I will re-enter my entries for you.
Just to tell you,
I think you can NOT communicate a film/novel in a Logo.
You can just see the better Logos in the whole world.
Showing a concept or something that make a Unique treatment, unique symbol, etc.
Sometimes you do not have a graphic or icon that represent all the values you need to show.
Just my thoughts.

Fernando.

Thank you Fernando. I'm going to rank up your #59 logo. Out of curiosity, do you feel that #126 is overlapping on what you're doing in #59?

On the Logo concept, I think I agree. Early on, I stated, in the main post, that I wasn't sure if the graphic could communicate the concept but I wanted to try. That said, I agree and I think that a simple yet bold text-based logo with some graphical element to the textual layout is likely going to be the best option.

I have meetings with some other people in my team later today and tomorrow and hope to lock some of this down more.

As to the person that said you were too close to his design, I see why he said what he said but I think yours was uniquely different enough that it isn't overlapping and others have come up with other designs more similar to his...there is only so much that can be done in that concept and I agree that it likely won't communicate what I want so it is likely not a good idea.

Once we get to the Top 5 and I have some feedback from my team, I may want to play wtih a few different font ideas on #59 to see if we can dial it in.

#166 is a shape that show interconnected people helping each other and if you look more you can see "J" "n" and "r". I hope you like it.

#166 i wrote the name complete, because the symbol is not to read "JNR", you can read in subtle way.

Thank you.

#167: I like the creative aspect of it but I think its too obscure for a graphic.
#172 and #173: Let me see what my team thinks this afternoon as we are going to decide whether we want to pursue the graphical or textual concepts at that point. My lean, right now, is to just stick with a textual layout with some stylized concepts like you have in #59. The other logo I ranked as #2 is just there because of the way that the People Helping People is offset to the right...not sure I like it but it has a nice feel to it.

I'll let you know what I find with my team later today.

I think you can put in not interest column, that will be great.

On your last comment, you mean on the #2 rank, correct? I agree and like your designs and work ethic so I would like to stick wtih what you are doing, especially, if we go textual....Maybe on the graphical side but I'm still waiting for that area to fully materialize. Assuming we go textual, when we get into the Top 5 timeframe, we can walk through a few final tweaks on the text including things like the offset of the tagline, etc. so we can finalize colors, shades and exact offsets but, for now, I like where it is.

Yes too similar and many more...like you told me before for example.
Some people make everything for money. I am discovered that is in the whole world. Really sad.

I really like the script logo concept and how you are laying it out!

#209 is nice but I prefer a more horizontal logo layout. Thank you for showing that option.

The contrast of two colors in #207 helps draw the JNR out but I don't think the black is the right color there. I'm thinking maybe a dark grey or some kind of gradient. Another idea might be to have a gradient of one color to another in the entire ball, say, from grey to blue or something like that. Another option might be to use a dark purple that almost looks bluish...either that alone or that blended into the dark blue might work.

#214: A few small things.

I have a few thoughts on the coloring and closing the J off as the J and the N together could be seen as a W but we can look at that later. In a few other designs, we're seeing the graphic of JNR integrate into the logo so that JNR isn't repeated in the textual side of the logo. If we close the loop on the J and N, what do you think of eliminating the textual version of the JNR? Similar to #59 but the JNR in #59 is replaced with the graphic you have designed in #214.
