What We Do
The annual conference of the Jane Austen Society of North America. In 2021, the Chicago region will be hosting the conference.
Industry
Non-Profit
Color Preferences
Will leave it to the inspiration of the artist. I suspect there will have to be multiple colors used because of the multiple elements needing to be referenced.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The theme of the 2021 convention is Jane Austen and the Arts. Jane Austen (1775-1817) is a British author of six wonderful novels including the most famous “Pride and Prejudice” and “Persuasion”. We’re celebrating the arts because Jane Austen was not only a genius author but an accomplished pianist who copied notebooks of sheet music to play for her and her family’s entertainment. Her sister Cassandra was more talented in water colors and growing up, her family acted in many amateur theatricals in their barn, as well as catching the performances of the famous actors and singers of the day in the London theater and opera when they were in town.

The AGM will not only feature essays & PowerPoint presentations from both academic & non-academic sources but the members will have plenty of opportunities for live performances of Austen's work or inspired by her work, & other artistic genres of the Regency period.

We would request a logo that not only embraces all the arts but also the Regency period in which she lived & wrote about. This logo will be used almost everywhere – including signage, website, printed materials, tote bags and member badges.

# 10, 20, and 21 are really the only that i would consider. The others don't address the theme at all.

Well, the first, second and third place choices of Sue's are most assuredly the top ones in the running. They answer my demands in particular, in particular, including the drama masks, while including the other arts as well. I favor blue, because it is my favorite color, but the red really pops and the green in good as well. Definitely a go

I'm saying in this order above, 5, 7, 9, 11, if we could make 5 pop a little more. Don't really love the rainbow effect of the firsr ones. But I am impressed that this designer really got what we were looking for and no one else did! Would the designer be able to get the skyline more "Chicago-y"?

Jenny is over my shoulder voting as they stand here, for #1,2 and 3 and I'm going along. I just want to make sure that the font is readable, that is "Annual General Meeting is readable and that the music score at the bottom of the logo is discernible, is that understandable what I'm saying?

And that it is large enough on the bags, etc. so people can exclaim with wonder at our general gloriousness . . .

And how do we pay for it?? Who cares . . .

I wonder is the silver on #1 will look good on a clear plastic coffee tumbler? Can the color be changed on other give away gift items? Would slightly bigger letters fit for "annual general meetings. Thanks
