Relevant competitor sites that give look and feel for their logos
http://www.synspace.com/
http://www.kuglermaag.com/
http://www.methodpark.de/
http://knowledge-department.de/

These should give reference point for general look and feel of competitor sites.

SO a total new look is required. You can start with a blank sheet of paper for ideas.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation.
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

The major theme of the overall business is process assessment and process improvement using international standards and best practice capability and maturity models such as CMMI and SPICE.

The business is international across Europe, N America and Asia.

Maturity models are generally represented by steps on incremental stairway
Capability models and assessment results are represented as a process profile generally as a two dimensional grid (with grid points highlighted)
Improvement is generally represented by rising line or arrow

The above is for information only.

feel free to use such concepts in any design

but also feel free to use any abstract logo design as well

There are no limitations to the design possibilities

A new fresh look and feel is needed compared with existing logotype

Cogs as in cog wheel in a clock might work as a logo
A stong letter 'i' in bright orange with a shine to it
Deep red (crimson/plum) as a strong colour for an icon might work

Please note that we have decided that the text 'impronova' should be in a single colour, so please do not submit any designs with text in dual or triple colours or with any vertical split with shading of colours for text only

Thanks

Please note their is no significance in the TEXT 'nova' therefore it should not be singled out for focussed attention

Concepts around globes seem to work
Especially when incorporating Levels or Dots on Grid

What about a concept of globe cut into concentric rings representing capability levels?

Some shadowing under globe seems to work nicely in designs as well

Designers - Please note

I do not have the ability to comment further in the last 7 hours of the competition, due to air travel

I will summarise feedback in a few days time

I extended the competion by 24-48 hours as I was not available in the last hours of the competition (due to international travels) to provide comments back to designers who were expecting to complete a review cycle before competition ending.

Judging and final ranking will take some time due to the number of professional design submissions. Company staff need to be involved in giving their rankings before final rankings can be given. There are several designs in the running for Rank #1. Current rankings may not be final rankings

Thanks for your continuing inputs during the competition extension.

To all the Designers that took part in this competition, I thought you would like some overall feedback on the shortlisted and ranked designs, but first of all I want to thank you all for your time and effort.

With nearly 500 designs submitted many were rejected for one reason or another, and I tried to provide constant feedback to all, so if designs were rejected they were with a reason.

Many late entries did not read design brief or the CH notes posted to aid designers. Only those designs that have followed the design brief remain.

SO here goes with a summary feedback
------------------------------------------------------------------------

#522 / #523 (JohnOne) and #483 (marcn) clearly received the most votes and both are outstanding designs. Thanks to both designers for working with the CH on many iterations to get the designs perfect.
Unfortunately in the last few hours before the end of the competition (marcn) removed some key alternate designs which were in fact a hit with the voters but were still in the unranked list waiting for the judging period to start to be placed in the rankings. It was clearly stated in CH notes that rankings during the competition would not necessarily be the rankings during judging period when winner is chosen.

Bothe #522 and #483 provided inspiration with alternative text fonts. #522 has a theme of globe for international business, and steps within the globe which represent maturity levels (part of design brief).

#483 took a unique design based on a globe and all liked this design, but felt that it looked better with logo stacked above the text (as stated unfortunately this was withdrawn).

#53 (heru) has been in the front running throughout the competition. Several variations on the theme where provided (many in last 24 hours). A new design was offered adding colour creating a sky and grass with several variations including #578. The overall theme is relevant, globe and climbing mountains to reach objectives and improvements with blue sky at the top (seeing the light). Whilst these designs were in favour with the CH, other reviewers has differening views whether this was too unique for the company, hence the ranking place given.

#531 (and #560) (craigj) was a late entry with a new concept, the globe (but very glossy – which looks nice) plus the inset of lines at differing levels pointing up. The lines can signify capability level ratings and improvement paths (part of design brief). (craigj) also used the text font in capital letters and the colouring and look go very well together.

#513 (den) was again a late entry in last 24 hours. The globe and arrow in right direction signifying improvement. Somehow (den) has managed to create ‘light’ in the logo which is pleasing and gives a strong professional look. The addition of a ‘blue’ smudge as a dot on the ‘I’ adds a final design touch.

#319 (LG Design) is a simple design, yet looks really good on letter headed paper. It’s a great design for any company logo. It had many supporters in the voting.

#471 (glendon) used the globe and concentric rings (levels) but in another expressive way. The use of the graduated colours of blue in the logo look very strong. It would have been nice to see some inspiration in use of different text fonts.

#73 (marcn) was an early submission and became a favourite with many, however as further entries came forward the company decided to stay with the trusted blue colour. However great design.

#370 and #371 (den) again took a fresh approach with the use of arrows (levels and improvement). An overall simple design that works well. Whilst it looks good on screen and business cards, it doesn’t seem to look well on letter headed paper, hence the lower rating.

#276 (den) again another fresh design. Our reviewers indicated that this design would be more appropriate for a web2 company and a little to modern for our customers.

#299 (heru) this design is unique and very professional. It was a favourite of the CH, however the reviewers through the design more appropriate for a telecom company or internet company, hence the lower rating. The design however is excellent.

#185 (asceckin), #44 (danoe), #163 (adhouse)and #25 (marcn) took designs based on grids representing capability profiles , (asceckin) putting a nice touch with an improvement line as well. Grids were stated in the designer brief but as the competition progression, other innovative designs came forward and therefore grids really got overtaken as the competition progressed.
