Color Preferences
Colours I prefer:

red and blue - and anything in between (like purple)
grey, "steel" grey, dark grey
white for the background

Colours NOT to use:

yellow, green (but orange is OK if you think it will work...)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Words 'highrise' can be diplayed with letters of different sizes or font(s) - a bit like city skyline with high rise buildings stacked up close together. Think the Hong Kong's famous Victoria harbour view on Central...

(a) fitness is the key component in the website and high rise being a secondary (where fitness takes place). Yet in your logos fitness is barely visible against highrise – small letters and in neutral colour
(b) the preferred colours were given as a guidance only. There is no need to use both cited colours, or use them in their ‘pure’ form – to me it looks a bit simplistic. Why not play with shades inbetween (hint: different shades of purple, from blueish to reddish).
(c) out of 4 submitted designed, I prefer 3 and 4, so I will move 1 and 2 to the ‘no thanks’ bin

The highrise is not an obvious high rise/skyscraper – I needed to enlage the logo to see what it is. It looks to me more like a minaret… can it be a more ‘obvious’ highrise?

All entries (1 to 8)
A general wish... I like minimalistic designs, "less is more" - at the same time dynamic. Just some food for thought... And thank you for submitting your entries so far!

Update: Entries #9 to #13

Thank you for all new entries. I already gave feedback on each individual one, but here is general comment:

- like the simplicity of #11 and 12
- please remember 'fitness' is more important than 'highrise'
- please think of more original colours than red and blue... eg purple? (brief says, anything "in between" red and blue)

MORE POINTERS as they came into my head:

Not sure why (almost) everyone prefer to work in capital letters? They look too square to me. Not enough movement and space!

Why not play with some funky, informal fonts (like Chillout for example?). I think it will give the logo more movement and also it will be less formal and more playful.

Update on rankings:

#19 and #21 are top two concepts right now because of simplicity (19) and feeling of movement (in 21)

Update on #1 to 24: I still believe the word 'highrise' can be played with to show the cityline rather than inserting an (additional) picture of a cityline/buildings.

UPDATE on rankings - what I like in top 5:

'holding together' logos
simple colour patterns
dynamic

If anyone would like to use some 'casual', assymetric font, they are welcome! Might be a totally new concept that would be worth considering in the next stage.

Hi all, thanks for your submissions in the 'open' phase...

I have now provided individual feedback to each of the top five designers, I look forward to hearing from you soon!

For the rest, I tried to rank as many designs as I could, so that everyone could get some credit for the work done.

Kind regards
Olga

Dear all top 5,

I have provided individual feedback to each of your new designs in the past few hours. Thank you again for your work!

A food for thought: perhaps there is a way to include a moving image of a person somewhere in the logo, without making it too crowded? eg a friend suggested to check if there is a way to show an abstract set of buildings that also resembles a person somehow striving forward.

Hi all , client requested an extension.

I'd like to clarify about the extension: yes, I requested it, but at an earlier stage ie several hours before the Open phase, when I wasn't sure I got enough interesting design concepts. That was about 36 hours ago.

Right now I am getting good cooperation from designers and I would like to clarify that the extension is not the reflection of my dissatisfaction with the current level of work.

Dear all, a quick word on ranking: I ranked 'concepts' first, and any colour variations I moved down the rankings in order to allow for more recognition of a different concept before minor changes like different colour variation.

Hope this is fair - I am new to this site and I am still learninig!

Hi all,

a quick update on the most ranking (62, 109, 95, 56, 55) - after an invitation to experiment with funky fonts and bring more movement into the logo, I found myself overwhelmed with 'funky' logos - so much that I felt I needed to move back to add back some order; to find the balance point. So funki-ness and movement is good, but some orderliness should also be present to add some professional look (=credibility).

Hopefully this balance point is reflected for me in the top 5 concepts.
