Hi, thanks for your submission! I'd like to give a detailed feedback on the #42 which I prefer to all others.
Prefer #42 over #44 and #41 because of a warmer colour Prefer #42 over #40 and #43 because the latter two look more like a logo on a car or a medallion type of logo than a logo on a website )) dunno if it is clear or not but I prefer the horizontal format
Now - just on #42: I suggest to try this:
- simplify the picture of the city landscape. the simpler the better.. may be get rid of the frame?... - increase the size of 'fitness' vs 'HighRise' - the project is about fitness and HighRise is the background for it - try more dynamic and/or relaxed fonts, especially for 'fitness' - please take a look at a piece of promotional material I am using for this project, it may help to understand what i mean by 'relaxed' font: http://www.pbase.com/image/142695212.jpg
thank you very much for the new submissions! Here is my feedback:
Like: - the colour scheme - the more relaxed, more 'dynamic' feel of the logo (because of the new picture and the new fonts) - like the fonts used for 'Fitness', both of them
Suggest to revise: - the picture looks a bit complicated, can you either simplify it or try something else, ie instead of a cityline make a picture of just one skyscraper/highrise building? - the words in the logo are not well balanced against each other, I think - HighRise looks too small compared to fitness
thanks! They do bring a new concept - the picture is funkier and I like it.
Prefer #66 to #65 because of picture on #65 reminds me of a saw ))
#64 is also good but I ranked it after #66 because of the spire on the top of the building... in my mind (and in Hong Kong at least), there is nothing like this on the top of the building - it's just the roof normally. so the building looks odd to me for that reason. Otherwise it may be a good idea to try an individual highrise for a picture.
#74 and #75, also #78 - the word 'highrise' seems too small and may be 'lost' in the logo #76, #77 - a better picture of a highrise, but what is that thing at the bottom of the building?
#78 - interesting colour combo, I need to 'sleep on it' before I can comment. tomorrow morning!
No problem, will adjust the type. For #76 and #77, the bottom is just a graphical element meant as a reflection of the building ( with a Harbourview of HongKong Island). Will submit a version without it too.
By the way, I've withdrawn my entry #65 since fellow designer Eight.Four has asked me to remove it (same style as his). Hope it's okay with you.
Thank you for ranking all my entries - really grateful for that.
OK no problem! Any work should be rewarded, ranking is the least I can do.
Regarding #78 (besides my comment that the word 'highrise' seems a bit too small), colours: I like very much the warmer purple colour on this logo (in fact, I may use it for the website a lot - since I found it elsewhere and I fell in love with it: http://www.consulfrance-hongkong.org/) and I am thinking that there are other, not blue/purpel colours that may go well with it. Since I am not a designer I don't know much about colour spectrum and combos, but perhaps you may try to use this purple together with a more different colour (not purple or blue) on the #78. In the end, if you find a two colour combo that works, it may win over purple + grey colour combo that most top entries now have.
Thanks! It's getting increasingly difficult for me to tank top 5, I like them all... (I may need to get more feedback from my friends at this stage.)
Regarding the new submissions:
#87 and #91, I moved them down as I prefer the building without the bottom part.
I ranked #90 highest of all new entries because I like the colour combination most - I think that shade of 'khaki' is more 'usable' than orange, I can potentially use it as one of the main colours on the website (and orange font is more difficult to read than 'khaki' I think)
Font-wise, all new entries are good - suggest keep it.
Picture-wise, besides my not liking the reflection at the bottom of the buidling, I am having difficulty to pick on of the three... ranked the #90 highest probably because of simplicty. Here the choice for me is between simplicity and 'movement' and at the moment frankly I don't know which one I would go for.
If you want to try new ideas, you may think of including a picture of moving person, even though don't know how this may work without making the picture more complicated.
