Logo Design Brief

United States
What We Do
Embracing Orphans serves the orphaned internationally through fund-raising, programs, and assistance in childcare at orphanages, as well as facilitating adoptions.
Industry
Non-Profit
Color Preferences
the MAIN color should be a light blue: this is the international color of the orphaned

secondary colors could include a yellow-orange and white
basic orange is not advised: this represents a political party in one of the countries we work in
other colors that work well with light blue may be tried
I suggest only using one color along with the light blue
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I would like the light blue to be used as the main color. Embracing Orphans is a strong enough name that we would like to see it as the main part of the logo. A separate icon may be added near the Embracing Orphans stylized text. I prefer not to have a globe within the logo, or a cross or Jesus fish, no holding a baby, no child like drawings, nothing that goes after sympathy, something unique

Discussion

We are excited to have designers working with us on a logo that can be used to share the need of the orphaned, raise funds for their provision and protection, and show them that they are worth being loved.

We are very interested in the possibility of having a word mark, like Fedex etc., but would also be interested in seeing a pictoral mark as a logo.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

Think professional outreach to the orphaned.

I am very excited at the work all of you are doing. Blessings for your hard work and thought out designs. Please keep tinkering and tweaking your designs to give us several options to choose from. We like a professional look, classy, keeping light blue connected to the orphaned that may or may not be represented in your icon. Feel free to give other examples of colors that you see fitting well with the design. Also small changes to the text in your designs. Lastly, if you can give a more web savy (3-D, glossy, eye catching) version of your logo's in addition to the traditional flat, universal logo, it will give us an idea of how we can use it for both our online marketing as well as our newsletters, documents, etc.

Blessings,

Here are some strong logo's in the non profit world that I am a fan of. http://vector.tutsplus.com/articles/web-roundups/25-powerful-non-profit-logos-deconstructed. I really like the boldness of many of them.

The orphans are children of God, royalty. Would anyone like to take on this aspect? Orphans with crowns being led by and adult or embraced by the adult.
