Color Preferences
Once you read my company brief and understand what kind of image I am going after - I am open to suggestions on color. My first thoughts woudl be:

Purple - Royalty (Elite)
or
Blue - Knowledge, Trustworthy, Cool
or
Red - Passion, Love
or
Yellow - Joy, Intellect

but really don't have a preference.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please submit all ideas - but one style that may be good to go after is a HollyWood or Movie style classy font. Something like you would see in a movie preview. I'll just have to see some ideas. submit other ones than just that, but that is one style.

The official name of our business is just "Audio To Go". We started in the year 2000 but after a year or so of using that name we noticed that people really didn't know what we did based solely on looking at the name. A lot of people thought that it was a car stereo store, an audio store or something like that. So in our current logo we added "DJ Entertainment" to it so people would know that it was a DJ service. People still don't know what we do sometimes just by glancing at it.

The name "Audio To Go" also sounds like a dj who just goes out and plays music. But over the years we have gone away from that and we focus more on our Master of Ceremony duties. The DJ part of it now takes a back seat to the more experienced and trained MC services that we provide.

We want the logo to represent the high class MC Service that we provide rather than a chessy looking logo that says - ah look these guys play music.

When we hire a new DJ (Entertainer) they do not get to do a show on their own for over a year. First, we train them to start out by just playing music at the events. Once they work with us 6-12 months we determine if they even have the potential to become a great Master of Ceremonies. If they do, then we recruit them into our 20 Week MC Training Class where we teach them everything from Bridal Party Introductions, various dances and how to lead them, voice techniques, music programming, music history, plus key elements to creating a successful party.

They then get to do their own events once they graduate our training program. So as you can see we take the business very seriously. You can check out a few videos we produced here: http://www.audiotogodj.com/video001.html

If during the logo design process you think of a good slogan for our company that would be fantastic.
We DO currenty have a slogan but it is WAYYYY TOOO LONG. You can find it at the top of our website here: http://www.audiotogodj.com

Tag Line Ideas
The copywriter that created a sales letter for me last year came up with the slogan that we currently have but I am always continuing my education in the sales and marketing field and as I have learned here recently, our currnet tagline is really just a fluff statement. Any of my competitors could use it and no one would know the difference. However, I really need to come up with a tagline that is specific to JUST MY COMPANY
where if anyone else used it, they would be lying or they are an exact duplicate of my company.

For example, when Domino’s used to say “We get your pizza to you in 30 minutes or less”
that was their niche. Little Caesar’s is Hot & Ready Pizza for $5

I may need your help and creativity here.
Our main focus is on sending out extraordinary talent that has been well trained and will create a successful party every time.

I figured since you do logos with slogans all the time you may be good at coming up with something, if not, no big deal. I know that this is really just for the logo design. Thanks in advance for all your entries. I look forward to commenting on all of them.

Once our logo is created and we select a winner, we would most likely like to use the winner to design our business cards and other marketing materials. So future $$ will be immediatley following this contest.

Wow. Just - wow. Congratulations on writing the biggest brief I've ever seen. :) This helps! I'd choose a contest holder who writes too much over a contest holder who doesn't write anything, any day!

As far as the tag line goes - there's a lot of creativity going on on this site. I'm sure a combination of the ideas submitted during this contest will spark your mind.

Good luck on finding a logo that suits your company!

Thank You all for your submissions so far but let me clarify. I am looking for more of a futuristic look or a powerful brand. The logos so far have more of a cartoon feel.

When designing, think of watching a brand new HollyWood Thriller movie coming on the big screen. The credits and the title of the movie overwhelm you with a sense of power. Thats what I am looking for here.

I am also looking for a logo that can look good whether it is on top of a white or a black background.

Should I be putting all of my comments for each design here in the general discussion or should I comment on each design by cliking on that specfic design?

You should comment on each design by cliking on that specfic design.

Logo Designer
Comments specific to an individual's designs should be put in the designer's page.
General design comments on things you like & don't like should be put here.

Hope this helps!

Any other questions, please feel free to ask. We are all happy to help.

ok one common theme that I keep seeing is the desings look like a cartoon.
Instead, I would like to see more of a "crisp" design that "pops" out at the viewer.

Forget that we are a DJ (I think that the stereotype of most DJs is bad for our image)
We are at a higher level of entertainment than what most people perceive of DJs.
So, keeping that in mind, once again forget that "Audio To Go" is about a DJ
but think of it as an actor in a big time movie or as the movie itself.

Something catchy, yet high class and says wow, these people may be expensive but they are the best.

Why do people keep withdrawing their logos?
They weren't the best but they were better than some others that are still posted.
I figured if I ranked all the logos that it would give everyone an idea of which way we were headed.
But if the logos are withdrawn then it is harder to see the progression of which way to go.

Logo Designer
People withdraw their logos for numerous reasons. Every variation shows up on a designers profile. If they make a better variation, or a concept gets ranked "not interested" right away, they tend to withdraw their entries, keeping a clean attractive profile. Contest holders usually look at the profiles of the designers that enter their contests, so we'd like to make a good impression.

...Which is indeed rather stupid, because every concept and variation still gets you a shot to the top when the contest hasn't ended yet, and a contest holder would probably just have a glance at the top ranked designs on a profile, not at the variations on your profile's second page.

Designers also sometimes upload a wrong version or upload something twice. You'll recognize those errors easily though, as they'll be submitted and withdrawn again within 5 minutes.

On topic: DESIGNERS! I see loads of submissions using the slogan "DJ entertainment", after CalligraphyLogo's first submission. The slogan of the company is currently "mobile DJ entertainment" and is !open for suggestions!. Do your homework.

Thanks for the additional submissions. I wanted to let everyone know I will not be making comments or ranking logos today since it is Sunday and since I don't work on Sundays. However, I will be in FIRST thing in the morning and will spend a lot of time on ranking (I will make sure everyone is ranked somewhere unless it is withdrawn) and making comments to help you improve your designs.

Please feel free to submit and I will start working again on this first thing Monday Morning!

Ok it is Monday morning and I am ready to go. I have made comments on everyone's logo and I look forward to seeing what you can do from here. It looks like there is a lot of talent on here and this is exciting.

I do like a few of the latest entries that came in.
The fonts are getting better with a classier feel!
Good thinking on the diamond, that really says we are high end and quality!
The symbol or "mark" is going to play a big part of the decision.
The mark should not be permantly attached to the name. What I mean by that is,
I would like it so that if I needed to put it to the left of the name that woudl be fine or
if I had more a a box space ad that I had to fit our logo in I could move the "mark or symbol"
above "Audio To Go" and it would still look good. Or I could even take the mark and put it by itself
and people would know who we were if they had seen it before with the name.

After I pick a winner, I will be having that desinger do a lot of graphic design work for us, like business cards, brochures, folders, posters, maybe even a var or van wrap :-), etc...

You also got me thinking about a slogan.
(I don't know if it necessarily has to be in the logo and I would probably say not)
but I thought of these. They aren't that great but it is a start:

"Highly Trained MCs For Events Where It Matters"
"Trained Entertainers For Personalized Events"
"Certified, Trained, and Licensed MCs For Your Special Occasion"

For the logo we could probably still just use "DJ Entertainement" or "Event Entertainment"
however once again I am open to suggestions.

To those who read my brief and to those that follow my posts here,
here is another hint towards what may work good.

Go to: https://logotournament.com/contests/rainmaker_guide
and look at the font on the winning entry. I would like to see somethign like this.
I don't knwo how well it will look, but it would be worth a shot.

Audio To Go has Professional Master of Ceremonies, Disc Jockeys Video Jockeys, Event Coordinators, and Party Motivators. In addition to a great mix of music ATG can provide you with spectacular light shows, video shows, planning help, and so much more. They not only strive to be the best Entertainment Company in the Carolinas, but they strive to be one of the best in the country!

They met that goal in 2007 as Audio To Go was recognized as the
"Number 1 DJ Company in the Nation" according to GigMasters.

ATG is a full time entertainment company that is licensed and insured. They require all their DJs to have extensive training in the music and entertainment field. Their ongoing education process includes their own in house workshops and training sessions, regional and national DJ Conventions, videos, publications, and group meetings.

Robert S.H. is in the lead right now because he has keyed in to what I have asked.
He has taken the time to read my brief and understand the classiness and style that we are after.

I have seen some awesome designers on here and I am sure the concepts
will just keep getting better. Please keep in mind some focal points:

I want an icon, symbol, or mark that can be used with or without the logo
but it would still be recognizable as our brand and image.
If someone saw our mark by itself (away from our logo)
would they know it was our brand if they had at least seen our logo one time?

Thats what we are after. The "mark" will play a big part in this contest.

I also need the logo to look good in a variety of formats and on top of different colors.

Good luck! The designs just keep getting better!
Please post your next concept!

WOW it's getting hard to figure out if you made any comments on your designs. The only way I can tell is if I click on each logo (every single design). If you make a comment on your design, try to at least post something here to let me know to click on your design. thanks

Just put something in this discussion area like "UPDATE"
then I will know to click on your design adn then I can read further comments from you. Thanks!

Logo Designer
I think it will get rather messy if everybody posts "update" on the main page...

Either way: update! :)

Client
You are correct that it may get messy.
But I want to make sure I answer everyone's questions
and that I give feedback and advice where needed.
I wish the site would alert the CH when they get a designer
leaving feedback on a photo. That would be very helpful.
We have to click onto each logo to see if the designer has made
any comments or if they have asked any questions.

so it won't get messy here on the main page, what if everyone sent
a private message to me, that they have a comment in the system for me then?
I don't know. It's just getting harder to look through all the logos to see if there are any updated comments.

It's easy to see updated or revised logos, becuase they are sorted by not ranked yet
but comments are a different story. Just checking.

Thanks for all your help

Logo Designer
I get your point. The system isn't that great. Ah well, it enables you to pick your own designer, instead of being stuck to one company! :)

You might want to rank some designs as "not interested", so designers know what you are definitely not searching for. My speaker icon for example! Furthermore, it cleans up a bit, as new entries show up above the "not interested" (keeping new entries on the first page if done correctly). Don't tag too much as "not interested" though, as that could demotivate designers...

The site should provide some more clarification when you start a contest. It takes a lot of time to really use this system the way you'd like to have done it from the start, as a contest holder.

Client
I read some on the forum when I first started the contest and it said not to rate the designs as not interested or (like you said) it may demotivate the designers. So, as long as a design is not withdrawn I am keeping it and not rating it as not interested. That way they at least get the blue ribbon. However, I am ranking the designs in an order where people will see what I like hopefully. We will see I guess.

Thanks for your help

One thing that I have not posted yet is the names of our Wedding Packages.

We have these packages:
The Dream Package
The Princess Pacakge
The Fairytale Experience

Keep in mind these are our WEDDING PACKAGES.

We do other events besides Weddings for instance we do
PROMS, CORPORATE EVENTS, PRIVATE PARTIES
but maybe our Wedding Package names will spark another idea.

You can check out our Weddings Page on our wesbite here:

Only two days to go!

Last chance to get in some design concepts.
I have provided a lot of feedback and instruction.
If you are not clear on anything please let me know.

Any other conepts out there?

You are really going to have to think hard about this because as it stands now -
Robbert S.H. is in first place and HAS BEEN in first place nearly the whole contest.
He truly understands our vision and our target audience.

Thank You to everyone who submitted a design.

I would like to say that to win a contest, you really need
to be involved during the process. They say that it is good for contest holders
to write a lot of feedback so the designers can get an idea of what the CH wants.
BUT if the CH DOES write a lot of stuff, it needs to be READ!

I had a ton of entries, that I could tell the designers didn't really read
or care about my thoughts. The designer that is walking away with
1st Place on this contest took the time from the VERY BEGINNING
to really get involved and really try to understand what I was looking for.
So for that I say THANK YOU!

Thank you for your comment. You've been a great CH to work with. Providing feedback really is the key to LT.

I'll upload the requested variations in a minute.
