I can tell that you truly put some thought into this. Thank You.
I like the skinnier letters, it gives the feeling of being not so masculine. I do like the diamond idea (however I don't like the speaker symbol inside it). The speaker symbol concentrates on the music, whereas we really concentrate on the MC (Master of Ceremonies/Entertainer part).
The colors aren't bad. Like I said I am open for udeas and this does give off a sense of class.
Good work on trying to think of a slogan. I'm not sure if that is the one I will use but it did get me thinking about some. I can tell that you really read the long brief that I wrote and you spent some time on this.
I do look forward to more submissions or revisions from you BUT after seeing some other designers withdraw some images (luckily they weren't anything I was interested in), I wanted to make sure that I didn't lose this.
Did you see my slogan suggestions on the main page of my contest? I posted them earlier today. However, I'm not sure if I want the slogan in the logo or not. Just having "DJ Entertainment" may be fine but who knows you could surprise me. I hope that doesn't confuse you.
My wife will definitely like the purple, however it doens't always go with everything as easily. One thing with the logo I want to make sure of it that it not only goes on top of a white OR a black background, but that it could go on top of other colors as well (maybe even blue)
If I wore a blue collared shirt with my logo on it and the diamond was normally blue, then the diamond could just be changed to grayscale or white.
The colors here are very light and not a lot of contrast with the white background. I want it to sort of "pop" out at you. Thanks for your work so far.
These logos ARE getting better. Thats really cool.
Ok, so I like what you did with the diamond this time! Some generic music symbols look cheesy (like a speaker), others look outdated (like a record or cd), but headphones will most likely always be around and you made them look contemporary. Great.
I see how you tried enclosing the logo so that it would fit on any background but do this now. DON'T enclose the "Audio To Go" but instead make the letters black or dark gray. Keep the rest the same (the diamond would still be enclosed with the blue and the tagline would remain the same for now)
I REALLY like the diamond icon here. Like I said in one of my posts earlier on the main page, I want a mark or a symbol that I can use with or without the whole logo. Basically if I just haev a small square space in an add, I could put my symbol but if I have more space I coudl put my whole logo.
With this diamond that you have made, I could blow it up and use it when I only have room for a square - I really like that. But I can also have it attached to the logo like you have here in #63
If we keep going with this idea, which now I really like, I can't decide whether to put the word "DJ" on the headphones (right there in the center of the circle, where the name brand would normally go) or put "ATG"
Or I guess I coudl do either way huh?
If it is attached to the logo, we could do "DJ" on the headphones but if it is not attached and I just use the symbol by itself it could say "ATG"
Thank You for listening and truly understanding my desires. I look forward to your entries tomorrow (I understand the whole timezone thing - thats cool) :-)
Don't worry about this too much "@ #85: too bad you don't like the icon. Every new concept is a risk as it changes the way you look at my creativity, which will (indirectly) affect my rank."
I don't think it will affect your rank.
If you have a bad concept, it will not dis credit your good concept.
All successful people are standing on a pile of failures in their past. It takes doing things time and time again to finally come up with somethign spectacular. So when you come up with something good, don't settle for that, go for GREAT!
Inbetween good and great yes there may be some bad ideas BUT that doesn't make the "good" any less "good". But if you come up with something better then that is GREAT!
also if someone sticks to one thing and someone else comes by and comes up with something better than you had all your eggs in one basket. But if you have tried several different angles then you never know what you may get.
you do have a stong concept going and that was just your first attempt, so if you think it is more safe to stay with that and continue to make minor changes that is fine, but I will also welcome any new concepts that you may have.
Like you siad though, it is kind of hard to create somethign that is not cheesy. Thanks for your efforts though. You are doing great.
hi thanks for your posts. No big deal about not having anything major.
I agree with you, I like the ring on the headphones rather than without.
I also agree that the new "DJ" font looks classier. Thank You
I can't decide which I like better though, the blue or the gold.
What if you did everything in gold except for the diamond? That would even mean that the headphones were gold but then the diamond was blue. May not look good but it would be interesting to try.
P.S. glad you like my organization skills. :-) yeah I'm weird......
After looking at it again, don't worry about making everything gold like I said because I do not like the letters gold. It does not stand out as much and is not as much of a contrast as the blue is. So keep the blue letters at least.
Maybe you could do everything blue except for the headphones. So "Audio To Go" and the tagline would all be blue. The diamond would be blue and then the headphones coudl be gold or whatever you think may look good. What do you think or would that look bad?
I am really trusting you, because you seem to really have a good nack for this.
After looking at it I don't think I like the blue gold thing. Let's stick with the blue right now. I also like the more simple logo rather than the more complex. (see you tried something a little bit edgy but you are still 1st place :-) yea)
Go ahead and convert #113 back to all blue. Let me just look at it like that with the new "DJ" in the headphones. Then we may try just changing the headphone color to gray or charcoal but do one of each.
Give me just everything in blue and then you can try a different variation with the headphones.
I like #90 where the letter colors are real dark blue almost black but not quite and the that gives it a little contrast to the lighter blue diamond (but luckily the diamond isn't too light of a blue)
If I use our symbol (the diamond with the headphones) by itself (without the name of our company beside it) how can we do it so that people would know it was us? In the above example he has his diamond with an "M" (short for Milestone = his company name)
Also after looking at them several more times, the new "DJ" I agree matches the class a little better BUT it doesn't show up quite as well. The other was fat or bold so you could really see it well from far back. Now that it is so small and skinny it can almost be lost or people would say what is that?
The bottom of the "J" almost blends into the ring.
P.S. You know, one thing that you probably did on a few of the other logos to see if I would say something about it and I never did was the "TM" mark (trademark). For some odd reason, that really makes the logo look a lot better (weird huh?). Bad news is, it probably costs too much and/or is too much of a pain to do something like that (to get the name trademarked) so I would have to just go without it, but heck it does make it look better. thats really weird.
Great, yeah keep it if thats all it means. Thanks for the education.
So tell me this. check this out: http://www.weddingentertainmentdirector.com/ This guy has coined the phrase "Wedding Entertainment Director" He said that it is trademarked, thereofre no one else can use it. Sooooooo, does that mean he didn't have to pay to use the TM? Does that mean that he can enforce someone else not using "Wedding Entertainment Director" as their title - even though those are general words?
Ok so I just read some about that. Since our company is a "service" would it need ot be a "service mark" instead of a "trademark" Look here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Service_mark
Hey, I just showed my wife and my office manager the designs so far. Neither one of them know what was on the diamond until I told them. They didn't know that it was supposd to be headphones. The were like "what is that?, is it a diamond uh with uh what is on it?, is it some sort of broken ring?"
Hmmm, so I guess I was seeing it becuase I see headphones everyday - but for them (even though they are around the business) they had no clue.
How can we make it so that a regular person will automatically get the concept?
