Our Ideas & Additional Information
Alfamannen is Norwegian for "Alpha male". The event wants to be associated with: the man, boys childhood play, test of manhood, a very demanding challenge and test of strength, hard trail run, mud, travel, movement, persistence/endurance, play, energy, joy, hunting, the Viking Age, Norway, the military.

Alpha male is the boss, the leader of the group. The term was first used about wolfs.

The race will include a mud track at a military camp, and an old silver mine (tunnels).

Look at http://www.toughguy.co.uk/ for inspiration.

The letters must be very easy to read, very visible.

The mascot should be a man, full body or face only. He could look like a viking (but with no helmet), or a special force military soldier (with no cap), or a worker in the silver mine (but with no tools). He must be the powerfull rather aggressive boss. Any alpha male (and participant at this event) should say that "this mascot IS me" and use it as a tatoo...
The mascot should symbolize the leader you want to protect you during time of war. It could be inspired by Clint Eastwood, Indiana Jones or Maximus in The Gladiator. But not Tarzan, Spiderman, Superman or Batman.

The letters must be very easy to read, very visible.

The mascot must be a man, full body or face only. The mascot should be very easy to "read" and understand, just like the letters. Someone seeing it for the first time, and only for a second, should understand what it means, and recognize it the next time he sees it.

The mascot should symbolize the leader you want to protect you during time of war. It could be inspired by Clint Eastwood, Indiana Jones or Maximus in The Gladiator. He must be the powerfull rather aggressive boss, but still with a good energy.

The mascot should NOT look like Tarzan, Spiderman, Superman, Batman or any other cartoon super hero.

The mascot could look like a viking (but with no helmet), or a special force military soldier (with no cap), or a worker in the silver mine (but with no tools).

The mascot should not have too much muscles, he is a trail runner, and not the strongest man in the world.

We are very close to something really good here. The appearance, setup and balance of #20 and #49 are good!

I like the logo of the Norwegian clothing-brand Norrønna, see http://www.norrona.no/en
The viking-mascot is too "sweat and kind" to be the alpha male, but the look is nice.

Perhaps someone could try to create a mascot with simple lines like the Norrøna-mascot, but with the appearance of the alpa male...?

One day left of the tournament...

Poio catches the personality of the alpha male very well with his entries #73 and #19.

LANG use a drawing technique that we like very much, with very simple lines, see #74 and #54.

It would be nice to see #73 with #54 drawing technique.

We are already very happy with the response and processes on our contest! Feel free to surprise us with a totally different approach, but please read the description of the personality we want to communicate!

And take a look at https://logotournament.com/portfolio. No other contests create such great logo's as the Alfahannen-contest does right now! I am very happy to see that!!!

It is only a few hours left of the contest. And I am very impressed by the volume of high quality work that has been done here. We have a lot of excellent logos to select amongst. I will be available to comment and interact with you during the last 12 hours of the contest.

I will listen to the other people in our organization (the core group behind the trail running event) after the contest has ended. You should therefore expect changes in the ranking after it has ended. Therefore, it can also be worthwhile to keep improving and sending in your logos, even if you are currently not ranked top 3. Thanks for all your good work!

We will extend the contest with 48 hours. Our purpose is to allow the top ranked 6 designers some additional time for some adjustments before the final end and closure of this contest.

We consider the top 6 ranked entries as very high quality and useful logos for Alfahannen. We are a group of 5 people who will make the decision within 48 hours after the closure. We could end up with a ranking of the top 6 designs that is very different from what you see now.

Please read again the description of the appearance and personality of the alpha male (alfahannen in Norwegian). The mascot should symbolize the leader you want to protect you during time of war. He is strong, aggressive, protects his people, fair, energetic and deserves respect.

He is strong, courageous, determined and has endurance.

He is a trail runner and not a strongman or cartoon.

We will now add some further comments on each of the top 6 ranked entries.

The contest will soon be closed.

We are amazed, impressed, proud and thankful for the fantastic effort you have done. You have created so many great logos and done wonderful high quality work. We have appreciated very much to work together with you during these days.

We will now need a few days to do the final ranking. We are a group of 5 people. We will conclude Monday at earliest, Friday at latest. Please be patient and be prepared for changes from the current ranking.

Thanks!
