The logo is based on the concept of motion, represented by the figure rough and manly, that his look is related to the figure of a Viking. Also the font is italic to go with the movement of the face, and this in turn is a simple typeface, hard, and with enough weight
#2: This is promising! I do like the appearance of the name "ALFAHANNEN" very much in this logo!
I do also like the balance and appearance of the viking head figure. But I think that the figure (viking) is too complicated. I want the figure (viking head) to be very easy to understand. Someone who see the logo for the first time, and just see it in a second, should understand what it means. Thanks!
well, this time I presented the idea of a man doing a sprint, leaving a trail that simulates the lines of the Norwegian flag. I also make larger ALFA prioritizing that this is a men's event, and of course THE ALPHA ones, and also serves like an impulse for the sprint
#3: I am not able to rank your contributions yet Poio, due to functionality at the logotournment-site. You are too new at the site to be ranked. I have asked the management for manual approval.
I like the letters (Alfahannen) better in #2. In fact, I like the appearence of the word-part of the logo very much in #2.
I do not like the use of the flag. Alfahannen is intended to be a norwegian event only, not international. So the flag is not necessary. I also think that the flag destroys the good balance in the logo. The running man could work. Could you make a new version, keep the look of the word from #2 and remove the flag?
in this one , try to communicate the same idea of the man running but more abstract, includes the idea of a military-style cut (This comment references Entry #13)
This is a silhouette of a head with a more modern look, and the intention to put the dogtag is to give that touch of a soldier, which I regard as a very characteristic icon, accompanied by the sensation of movement that I've been adding to the other proposals
#19: Hi Poio! We are having a discussion in the group. #19 is really tough! But the hair and beard does not really fit each other. And we (the others) think that the style of the beard is better than that of the hair. Could you try...?
#64: This is cool! This might be even better than #20 that is currently ranked 1st. Could you play a bit more with his new hair? The length is fine, but it is too beautiful. It looks like he came from a stylish haidresser. The alpha male does not go to the hairdresser. Perhaps just a bit more air like in #20, but with the same drawing technique used in #64. You can keep his long beard, it is super cool! Please keep on!
#65: This is nice. But #20 is The Alpha Male! If you only have a limited time to work on this contest, then I would prefer that you spend your energy on the #20-kind of mascot. Because it is so good. I wold love to see an attempt to draw the same mascot (#20) with the simple lines used by #53...
#67: I liked the slightly longer hair in the neck of entry #64 better. But the more simple lines at the top of the head of #67 is nice. Entry #19 has a rawer look, which I like very much. I would like to see the #67 hair style at the top of the head, the neck of #64, but with the roughness of of #19. Did you do something new with the eyes of #67? I like the new eyes of #67, it looks more aggressive! Thanks!
Perhaps #19 is more in motion, more dynamic, while #67 and #64 are more static, standing still. I like the impression of being in motion or having wind in his hair.
Entries #71, #72, #73 and #74 are all really great!
#73: I think I like this one the best. It has a nice sense of moving forward. I have ranked this as number 1. But: I keep coming back to #19. It is the rawest of them all. I dont know why. Perhaps he is even more in a forward motion than #73. Perhaps you could do something with the hair at the top of the head of #73, to make it even more moving fast forward....?
But I might change my view later, about which of your entries are the best.
Your logo's is clearly the version of the mascot that best represent the personality of the alpha male, as we have described it by words.
And take a look at https://logotournament.com/portfolio. No other contests create such great logo's as the Alfahannen-contest does right now! I am very happy to see that!!!
#108 and #109: I do not like the line at the top of the beard (thats why #103 is ranked 1 now). Please submit new versions of these two, without that line. Thanks!
You have catched the personality of the alpha male the best of them all. I am now in discussion with my organization. Some of the others do like the concept of #105, #112, #116, #118 better, because they are not “filled black”:
#69: Could we make one more try on this one? White skin. But it needs the same appearance as #103 or #19, which means much tougher.
#103, and the rest: It is something strange with the forehead (the bone above the eyes). It is more obvious at #69. It looks like he has a very short forehead, which could be considered as not giving an intelligent appearance. Could you try to give him a “higher forehead”?
#19: We keep coming back to this entry. It is perhaps the toughest mascots of the all.
#130: Poio! I do get reactions that the this mascot has become evil. He has an evil appearance. Our mascot should not be evil. He should be "positive aggressive". Can you take a look at it? Do something with eyes and mouth? Thanks!
#196: Poio! I have now a friend at visit. He is probably the person I know who is closest to being the alpha male. He says that an alpha male either has a full beard or no beard at all. He says that #196 looks like a bandit. I don’t like him saying that. But, could we try full beard and no beard or mustache at all?
#213: This is close. Keep this style of the beard, I think it fits better with his hair than #212. But, I would like to see his mouth, because it has really become very nice at #196. Thanks!
