Hi there

Many thanks for the submissions.

I'm not throwing out the idea entirely but I'm not overly keen on the vertical solution, i.e. the numeric 30 above another numeric 30 with "under" in the middle. I think it's too literal & doesn't easily convey the 30under30.co.uk domain name I own.

The winning logo with be clean, non-fussy, memorable and convey the excitement, innovation and inspiration of those that appear in the top 30 of education professional that will change, for the better, the way people learn.

No need to be too clever here even a typographical solution that's effectively 30under30 might do the trick with the right face, treatment and colour.

Keep up the good work!

Just to clarify something about the 30under30 awards programme that this logo is for.

Please don't get hung-up about the fact that this programme is directed at people working in education - put your preconceptions to one side :-)

These people are innovators and new thinkers who are doing amazing things that will change the landscape of learning and help the world break out of the Victorian age of kids sitting in rows of desks listening to boring lectures. This is a generation of people who understand the web, use technology as a tool, understand the world in which young learners inhabit, understand that a school doesn't need to be a building, etc. They blog, tweet, mashup, unconference, blip, podcast, etc.

I'm looking for something that expresses the vibrancy of these young professionals and something that they feel comfortable putting on their blogs, etc.

by the way...

the clue to what I'm looking for is in the way I write 30under30

we own 30under30.co.uk & 30under30.eu so I want people to be able to remember this easily

I'm open-minded (honest!) but have yet to see a logo with fussy stuff on top that works - at this point in time I think we need simple in a way that communicates to youthful innovators in their 20's

Hi

Just to say that when I'm ranking at this early stage (less than 2 days in) I am using the "not interested" box to indicate the direction that I'm not interested in taking. I intend this to mean "no thank you" rather than suggest anything negative about the work. Where time permits I will make comments but if you're unsure just PM me and I'll respond.

The designs that are left or are ranked are my way of showing areas that might develop into what I'm hoping for with those actually ranked indicating a further refinement of direction - however, I have yet to see designs that are really where I'm hoping to go with this - but hey it's early days yet and I'm really thankful for the designs submitted so far.

I'm concerned that when I've ranked a particular style in the top 5 that this gives a particular message regarding preference on type or style etc. Of course, this will become stronger as we go on but at the moment this is not the case - the ranking is reflecting designs that are close to brief.

I do not want to strangle the creative process and am keen to see designs that are influenced by the web 2.0 genre but clearly differentiate themselves so they are memorable and speak to the values about the 30under30 programme. As I've said, this can be a typographical solution but I am not adverse and would quite like to see graphical or iconic devices being used as part of the logo.

Hope this clarifies

Thanks

a general comment is that the domain I own is "30under30" so please don't get married to "thirtyunderthirty" in your design thinking :-)

Anything with thirtyunderthirty in it is unlikely to make it thru to the end...

Thanks

Apologies for the evolving brief!

I'm quite keen on having an icon/graphic device to go with a text solution for 30under30 - I don't think either has been cracked yet.

For an icon think Apple iPhone application icon perhaps?

Need to see some other variations on colour too

Thanks

woh, 379 to choose from !!!
a rediculous amount to sift through

when I design for a client
I do one design and work through it..

When I've presented 15 different ones
they usually say there are too many to choose from..

Just a quick note to thank every single designer for the submissions so far.

Please accept my sincere apologies if I have been unable to comment on each one directly but with an amazing more than 500 submissions plus a day job and family this is becoming extremely hard to keep up and respond to each design.

I'm hoping that the ranking will provide an indication of where this contest is going.

Thanks
