You've demonstrated that you've understood the brief in terms of a typographical or web 2.0 style solution and also a horizontal execution without the fussiness of stuff on top.
I don't like the 'e' as, for me, it makes the word less clear for no good reason, i.e. clever for clever's sake. I'd rather see it with an 'e' in the same face although I'm certain that a classic face like this entirely communicates the youthful innovators that the awards programme is intended for.
Yeah, glad you liked it. Yes i read the brief well and noticed what you were after and tried to do something close to that and work it from there, refining it, chosing colors to settle on, etc.
I will provide you with a normal " e " for you to check out and let me know if you got any other feedback regarding it, or colors you might want to see or prefer more.
I'd like to see a few more experiments with type and style - maybe move a little into the web 2.5 (a notch better than 2.0 hehe) territory. I realise that web 2.0 styling will date very fast but this is a logo that will get updated from time to time given that it's about an event geared towards innovation, etc.
At the moment your logo is something that I might find on a superstylish and expensive private members club. Great but not entirely what's needed to communicate this event.
#83 and #84 would be a horizontal version / vertical version of my concept that are close to your refferences in the feel / idea.
as for the type, i made the " under " look simple / modern and for the " 30 " as you see it, it look distinguished and unique.
let me know your feedback on those new ones.
i will be thinking and doing other new concepts as they cross my mind now. the hard thing here, is that the word " under " has to go somewhere in there, so a 30 / 30 icon alone with name under it or on its left wont work good for you, am i correct ?
#95 , just a thought that crossed my mind as well, the grey line under the first " 30 " and below the second " 30 " indicates that " 30 / 30 " concept , one 30 above the other 30 under it ;)
just a simple, smart highlighting to give it a deeper meaning behined that elegant concept.
I like the idea of a graphic device to the left as you have here although not necessarily what you have here as it seems to repeat what is being said in the 30under30 bit.
Generally, I think you may have to look at other solutions entirely. It's early in the contest so far and I've not seen anything that is yet close.
I like the graphic device you're developing here, it also communicates "collaboration" and "collegiality" which is an important part of new learning and teaching practice.
We might actually need something a bit more solid but I like the direction your headed.
that is 30 / 30 , if you look closely, the buttom of the " 3 " i made it to be a zero " 0 " in both " 3's " , having them symetrical in that way, to form that icon shape and still if you look deep into it, you will see two 30's in a smart way, on one on top of the other.
So if you look to one " 3 " and the bottom of the other " 3 " beside it, you will read the number " 30 " and same with the other one, saw it ? its like a hidden / indirect concept, yet it could be seen.
i can make the zero part of the 3 with different color if you want, just let me know how you find this new concept of mine.
