It's a little too delicate for my needs and I'd have difficulty working with this on web and an awards event and maybe even in print.
I think (!) I'm looking for a retake on the web 2.0 style (I'll call it web 2.5). I'm conscious that the whole web 2.0 logo style will date rapidly but I'm still looking for something that stands out as modern, innovative, cool, stylish, funky, etc.
It could be typographical, it could have a device/icon attached etc.
I have a preference for horizontal solutions as I will use a lot on web & banners, etc.
hey thanks for the feedback, im just throwing out a few more ideas, let me know if you want me to pursure any of them. Also, many people have varying opinions of what web2.0 is so could you just clarify what it is exactly your after in that regard? for me when i think of web2.0 i think of subtle gradients, reflections, subtle 3d effects etc. logos like skype, google, youtube and so on. thanks, bugy.
I like these as they are original - still a little delicate perhaps as I'm trying to envisage how they might work on a projection system as well as other media such as print and web, etc.
Re: web 2.0 - yes I take your point - it's become a bit of a clichéd catchall term and has almost become a caricature in web designer world. I'm wanting to reflect some of those aesthetics but at the same time being a bit smarter, a bit what's next? maybe a little darker or more future-retro (Kubrik 2001esque?)
#128 is a bit brutal - not sure where you might end up with this but it's certainly a different direction
I've gone a bit off this style - a bit too delicate perhaps. I'm quite keen to see some logo's following the pictorial / abstract mark style with a web 2.0 twist, if that makes sense.
I think I may have driven too hard on web 2.0 only because early submissions were either like 'bargain basement sale stickers" or too classic in their choice of type.
I guess it's one of those things that will just grab me when I see it!
