What We Do
We are a non-profit community theater focused on live performances by and for children and teens.
Industry
Entertainment
Color Preferences
Bright colors, particularly jewel tones. We want to appeal to both boys and girls, young children and teens (I know, no small order!).
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are branding ourselves primarily by our nickname, YATL, rather than the full name, Young Actors Theater Lab. We'd like to see both a logo with and without the full name. Ideally, we'd have something that included both, but which we could modify as needed to be the full shebang or just "YATL." Don't know if this is possible.

We don't have any particular desire to keep Y-A-T-L all caps the same size, or even the same font. Play with it. Creativity is key. We're a group of artists, and the logo should reflect that. You can't go too far out of the box for us :-)

We have just recently named this group as a subsidiary of a larger theater company, so you're helping us create something from scratch. We're excited to get started..... Thanks!

These are all awesome! I've been sweating over how to rank them. I'm truly overwhelmed by your talent. Let me see if I can provide you all some intelligent and useful feedback. I find that my strongest concern when looking at them is that they appeal to older as well as younger kids. The younger kids are easier to please; the older ones are sensitive to being thought of as "children," so there is a fine line to walk between the two. I also want it to be really clear when someone glances at the logo that it's for a theater program, and one for youth...something that would cause a person to do a double-take thinking, "Wow, is that a kids theater program?" I hope that helps.... I 'll continue to log in during the day. Thanks so much for your work on this.

Hey, y'all.... Logo Tournament tells us it's critical to rank the logos we get, that it's good for you and good for generating excitement about the contest. So with difficulty I did that, and the one who ended up ranked last has now pulled his/her logo. Some of my staff actually preferred that one, and this process is ongoing, yes? Please don't withdraw your logo just because it's not ranked at the top. I imagine the decision about which logo to pick will be an evolutionary process and will involve many opinions. Shall I not rank them? It really makes no difference to me, but I want to do what's best for you all.

Hi, all....
I've unranked the logos and I'm not going to rank them any more until the final days. I've found that it offends some of the designers, and I'm afraid that others will limit their creativity by trying to emulate those that are currently ranked at the top. The only reason I ranked them in the first place was because LogoTournament encourages us to do so. But my team at the theater is continually considering all of them seriously, and since we've never had great artwork such as this to work with, it's taking us a long time to compare and make good choices. I will provide individual feedback, but I won't rank them in this first period, as that implies that I dislike some and that is very much NOT the case. And I don't want my limited imagination (in terms of graphic art) to keep you all from going even farther outside the box :-) THANKS!!!!
