Dear contest holder,

What kind of services would this website be offering? A little more detail would help a lot for me (and other designers) to come up with good ideas.

Thank you Robbert S.H. for the comment. The services offered is a broad range of services.

A blend of financial services such as offering technical analysis of chart patterns with equities, and other auxiliary services.

We are looking at working at our branding and logo at this point of the process. So I can't give you a defined definition of what we sell.

But we are mainly a service business that wants to reach demographics that are affulent and believes that the logo speaks this to them.

This is early in the process so I am welcome to new ideas as they come along.

Okay, that creates some space for ideas :). Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback.

One more question: What does the name "XO2XO" stand for? Is it an acronym/abbreviation?

Dear Robbert S.H.,

Thank you for the feedback and the suggestions. The xo2xo doesn't stand for anything. It's just like the name "flickr". I don't believe that stands for anything. It is just an initial thought process. Such as you are looking on a map. And you mark it as a point X and circle it, and the end destination is another point X and circle it. So sort of like looking at Google Maps, where you drag your cursor (x) to mark a point (o) and etc. Till you get to the final destination.

So the 2 acts as a bridge between the two. Hence why I would appreciate if the 2 was a different color to make the end user realize that it is a bridge from one to another. But thank you very much for your continued assistance in this. I hope that Rotterdam is doing well if you living by there.

I get the point now :). Thought it was something like that, but wanted to make sure it wasn't an acronym. It's good to know what the title stands for when trying to come up with ideas.

I don't live near Rotterdam. Appreciate the concerns though! I do live near Amsterdam - capital of The Netherlands.

Thanks again for all the feedback and comments. This gives designers the opportunity to adjust their ideas to your likings.

P.S.: a "flicker" is actually a flash of light or a short moment. As is a photograph! But yeah, I do get your point. :) It's like... Skype. What's a skype? No idea. Everybody knows what you mean when you say "Skype" though. It's the blue rounded logo, which lets you make calls over the internet! So, it's a name and logo that works, that's what counts!

I have shifted the style sliders somewhat to provide a better understanding of what I may like. I'm welcome to any designs, colors, logos. So feel free to submit your logo. Thank you all for being so supportive in this whole process.

In terms of color schemes I'm open to more color schemes. Something that seems to pop off the page that makes it more noticeable. For example, when you go to an Apple site you see very vivbrate colors.

And in terms of the "globe" theme, I'm welcome to non-globe related logos. I like the concept of the globe, but most brands out there do not show a globe. Such as the examples of well known brands showed by this site.

Thank you all for your continued great work. It has been difficult picking between all the great choices.

I am still evaluating all the different concepts that have been submitted, including those that I've placed that I've been that are not interested. All of the designs have been quite diverse, and makes it challenging to judge. What I've been looking for has changed as this process has evolved. Initially it seems that a straight forward approach would have won this contest, then some of these new concepts came along and made the drivers of the contest more abstract. Hence, the current top ten.

I've been getting different opinions in regards to what they like. So it seems to different strokes for different people, nothing seems clearly defined. I have under ten in mind right now as I try to narrow down this giant mountain of concepts. Thank you all for being patient through this whole process.

Dear contest holder,

There's only a few hours left for this contest and it seems your preferences are, indeed, shifting throughout the process. If you haven't quite figured out which way you wanna go with the logo yet, please feel free to extend the contest with a few days!

I think I'm not the only one who would be happy to get some more time for wild ideas, since you've just commented you're looking for a more abstract logo now.

With kind regards,

Dear Robbert,

Thank you for the open communication. I may end up entending the contest. I think you have done a tremendous job with trying to understand which concepts that I am going for. And you have continously worked with me on creating something that I can use and transfer over to other areas. I value the tremendous amount of effort that you have put into this. Just with everyone else who has submitted there designs. Since the 10th of this month I've fairly open to new ideas and concepts. Especially colors that are vivid and alive.

All designs deserve kudos and recognition. However I am not able to provide recognition for every design that I receive. So I've been deliberating what will work best with some of these designs that did not win the "top" slot. Because some of these designs truely work. So I will probably extend the contest to the longest I can extend it. However, I feel inclined to close the contest when I feel that it is the right time because there are only so many designs that might be submitted till some people face brain drain. I'm going through that myself and I'm not even the one creating the concepts.

I am fairly certain upon looking at the vast amount of concepts which designs that I am looking for. I'm open to new ideas and concepts as that is how we make every idea and concept evolve through processes such as this one. So again I couldn't be more appreciative of everyone and their designs.

Dear SpeedLogo,

Thank you for your opinion SpeedLogo. I understand what you've said that's why I would say it is pretty much brain drain to continuously try to find concepts. I think close to 200 concepts garners enough concepts to find a selection. I have narrowed that down to one as I've found the right combination and color scheme. I however have to wait for revisions to make it more suitable. And I've found it once the revisions are made.

There isn't a clear definition because I am open to a variety of ideas. If I give a clear definition then some of these ideas that have been generated would not be featured or proposed. Hence, I've been giving pretty much free rein with the creation of this logo. The venture idea that I have is very broad, hence I can't give a specifics on what it is. If I do then the logo will become increasing generalized. I am not featuring one aspect, as I want this logo to be as broad as possible, but also with a purpose and defends what I warrant from the concept.

So I should finalize things as the final designs have come in.

Robbert S.H. - We can stay in contact and I'll shoot you a message when I need your applicable skills in the foreseeable future. I know you have some great ideas but to make everything feasible for everyone lets just give it a close. That doesn't mean your great ideas won't be featured, just means as SpeedLogo and I have said that the brain drain will happen as time goes, because some designers may feel that their design wasn't fully appreciated and etc... once the number of designs continue to increase as SpeedLogo has pointed out.

Thank you all for your entries and concepts. I appreciate all the help and the numerous revisions for some. The reason why I picked #1 the way I did was a number of factors.

I had numerous people look at the various concepts that was submitted. And flashed a number of designs that they had a brief time to look at. What caught their eye was the colors involved. Hence, the colorful presentation that the top entries were presented. Any of them could have won this contest. I was torn between a number of them in the final stages. As they all represented different values that I would have happily presented. The color point was very important to me, as that either made or break the design.

So as I narrowed down the top entries I was looking for what made it came together. The globe aspect was important, but I am also looking at it in an abstract way that allows me to apply this mark that would be transferable from one to another. This allows for that to happen. The colors really won me over, as it needed a number of tweaks before the final concept could be applied. This wasn't an easy process as there was really little to work with. Just people's imaginations and their creativity and feedback back and forth. I think everything turned out great.

Next step in the process if anyone is interested is web design (besides Robbert). If you are very adopt at web design shoot a message over. I hope to resonate a connection with this long-term project. And explain this whole thought process on why everything needed to be flexible.

But thank you all for your help and your feedback. Most of these designs could surely be transferred over to another contest and would surely win. Great work all around.

Dear contest holder,

Could you send me a message regarding the web design? I still can't figure out how to send you one. I can send designers PMs, but not contest holders.

It's too bad I live in a different timezone. I had some wild ideas yesterday and came up with entries like the #2 ranked one. Had some other ideas, for instance creating a simplified world map from those connecting coloured dots, to return the globe aspect to the logo. It was 3AM by the time I finished half of the concepts I had in mind, too bad.

SpeedLogo does have a point by the way, but giving feedback helps a lot for the designer to come up with new ideas, which is why I kept trying. Once again - thanks for all the feedback!

I'm hoping we could work together in the near future. If not: I wish you the best of luck with your (now logo-ed) venture! :)

With kind regards,

Robbert S. H.
