Iconic character preferred over anything with writing.

a serious, maculine looking fox, serious eyes but not too sinister (its a fox by nature) wherein the smile (though not overwhelmingly) can bring in the playfullness (subtly). The cartoon aspect in and of itself should be the playful aspect. Please review the eyes/ face of the example fox uploaded, as well as the cartoon type turtle that was posted as well.

Less is more, simple, clean, masculine, but elegant.

Try to keep the look more on traditional that can be representative of the long standing traditions surrounding the golf club. Nothing too modern in look. softer traditional color schemes, and a masculine, though not sinister looking fox.

The type of fox you might see, be drawn to, and be unable to not play a round of golf with him...
