Color Preferences
See website www.wildstoves.co.uk for our colours. We tend to use a lot of marroon as this is a rich elegant colour, and also nods at fire. A deep Green - to reflect the eco-credentials of our site and philosophy may also work. Maybe some orange too for fire/ energy.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
See website. We used this font to get us started as it seemed simple but informal and a bit 'outdoorsy'. We tried adding a stylised flame after this with three wiggly vertical lines, but although the principle of a nod at a flame might work, it didn't in practice.
We also played with the font Wurly Fool http://www.dafont.com/wurly-fool.font and although we found this was a bit over the top quite liked how it spoke of flames. Didn't reproduce small well at all.
The logo need not necessarily sit on a marroon background, and whatever it should be reproducible in some form against a white background of emails and stationary.
Finally the aspect should ideally be fairly wide and narrow to fit with the header of the website - though it probably shouldn't fill all space. Final vector image please.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monetary means of showing appreciation for the Designers' hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

More detailed information on how to get the most out of your contest can be found here:

- Some interesting images so far up to #8 - thanks. I've done some initial ranking, but not sure we're there with the concept yet. Still very much open to blue-sky ideas.

- Also interested to see more ideas on a simple graphic next to the text. I think this could add identity, and explanation.

- Realising that concepts that somehow frame and / or include a graphic substantially enhance the logo.

Thanks to all for these fantastic images. I'm learning more about what I think can work from looking at them:

- I have ranked #28 first as it visually explains what we are about; outdoor cooking on fires. The font also works well.

- The question of flames is complicated by the focus of our business:
- - we are about outdoor cooking on fires, so anything that makes it look like we are about domestic wood heating stoves etc, is not quite right.
- - specifically we are really passionate about improved cleaner ways of cooking on wood stoves - which are generally simple cylinders that combust wood more cleanly and efficiently than open fires. So a nod at this might work well (good luck!)
- - we may, in time, move towards wood heating stoves (probably for caravans and tents etc) as well, so this is an argument for keeping the image of wood burning more general, so I don't want to rule this out.

Thanks all for ongoing great designs. Some inspiring stuff.
- I'm realising we definitely need some colour in the logo (some nice styff done with orange so far...). At the same time, still looking convincing in B&W is important.
- I'm liking more and more the images by the text. Great identity. Hope details above help say what I'm looking for there.
- I would be interested in seeing how some of the deigns look against different colours - e.g. rectangular (or more interestingly-shaped) blocks of colour behind the logo which makes it stand out a bit more. This way, as I understand, it could be used in the same form against any background.

Thanks, Jonathan

Thanks all - some strong ideas developing here.

- As you can see from rankings, I'm really into a cooking graphic, and would welcome further takes on this. In terms of the graphic message you may find these shots useful of our headline product the 'Rocket stove' and the kind of thing we stand for...

Something that nods at this, say side on, with a pot on top and a few flames and sticks sticking out of the front?

- I'd also be interested to see some logos which have backgrounds different from the maroon/ white - e.g. graded shading behind, or some kind of frame.

Many thanks, Jonathan

Done a bit of housekeeping, just to make things easier and clearer.

We had a meeting this afernoon about the contest high rankers, some great looks emerging.

One colleague wondered about inserting some green into the logo, to bring out the outdoory nature. I wonder how green text would look on some of the existing high-rankers?

Many thanks, sincerely, for all efforts.

Designers please note brief detail on format - horizontal (i.e. wide) logos only please - see format of our website - we cannot fit non-horizontal ones!

Thanks for amazing new input
