Our Ideas & Additional Information
Ideally we would like to have a yellow canary as a character. We don't want anything heavily cartooned, but something that is a typical canary shape but with a slightly contemporary look.
There are a few reasons why we are considering the canary: First, the owner is originally from the Canary Islands of Spain. Second, a yellow bird will be easy to see on a "for sale" yard sign. Third, much like a "canary in the coalmine", we pride ourselves at having done the kind of research that can help buyers and sellers make good decisions about a large transaction (i.e., helping them feel confident about what they can't see in the future.) Fourth, when developing the marketing plan, we hope to further develop the canary as a character that can take on a life of its own on a webpage, in marketing materials (stuffed animals, tshirts, etc.) or even in person.
Having said all of this, we are also considering a logo without the bird. In doing this, however, we are trying to stay away from something too "typical" for real estate offices. Many use the sign of a house, but we are making a concerted effort to set this office apart. Ultimately, we are going for a contemporary (but not too modern or techie) look that evokes a sense of class, contemporary approach, and trust.
